To Columbus from Buffalo:
Rasmus Ristolainen (under contract for rest of this year, plus 3 more years @ $5.4 season)
Alex Nylander ($863k per year for two more seasons)
Jason Pominville ($5.6 million, contract expiring at end of season)
To Columbus from Ottawa:
Matt Duchene
To Ottawa from Buffalo
2019 1st (originally San Jose's)
2021 2nd (originally St. Louis)
To Ottawa from Columbus
Anthony Duclair ($650k)
2021 1st Round Pick
2019 3rd Round Pick
To Buffalo from Columbus:
Artemi Panarin ($6 mill, Unrestricted Free Agent at end of year)
Ryan Murray ($2.825 mill, Restricted Free Agent at end of year)
Sonny Milano
To Buffalo from Ottawa:
2020 6th Round Pick (originally from St. Louis)
Ounce of legal Canadian Cannabis
Sabres extend LD Murray to be RD Dahlin's partner for next chunk of years, and gets rid of the right-right imbalance of Risto and Rasmus.
Sabres extend Panarin (and still find enough $ to lockup Skinner to an extension) and become a 5 vs 5 beast, dominating other teams' second lines in the process.
Milano replaces Nylander as the intriguing prospects fans are always clamoring for a call-up.
Duchene replaces Panarin's scoring in Columbus, and signs a long-term extension there this summer (8 yrs / $64 mill) after realizing this market was not what he hoped it would be (after laying an egg in the playoffs).
Pominville adds some brains and vet presence and helps some of the younger players with the subtleties of the game, especially come playoff time.
Ottawa gets some decent picks (two 1st rounders plus a 2nd and a 3rd), a speedy, inconsistent throw-in (Duclair), and the satisfaction of knowing they don't have to overpay Duchene for eight years.

This is just awful. You want to give up that much for basically a couple months of Panarin? Panarin won’t sign with Buffalo. |

With Elie clearing waivers now is the time you bring up Nylander and give him the last 30 games to prove himself. If GMJB doesn't like what he sees then you move him during the summer. |

It’s pretty self explanatory. I’m pretty sure he didn’t mean literally a sunburn either. Also there are light bulbs that give off a lot of heat. Those infrared sauna bulbs can definitely burn you.
And yes his comment was hilarious. |

This actually isn't terrible. At least not for a Garf blog. Garf would have offered up Okposo, Nylander and a 5th for Panarin, Murray, and Zach Werenski....
Having said that, it's still heavily tilted in Buffalo's favour. Basically Risto (not an effective player at all), Nylander (looking awfully bust-ish), and SJ's 1st (decent trade chip, probably in the mid 20s) for two very strong assets in Murray and Panarin. And then you've got the balls to throw in the Pominville cap dump AND somehow reward Buffalo with a random draft pick....cocky
I want more Garf trade proposals!!

Seriously, even Botts knows that this team is atleast a year away. I mean, he's been a huge part of a winning organization. Sell what you can for one more year. Keep all futures. Let young guys play to see what you've got. Try to lure in a top FA or two...signing Skinner will go a long way towards that. |
