Thank you for sharing Karine. I think many people and all people have problems to varying degrees, and people need to realize it's ok to talk, to share, somewhere, with someone, whether it's a friend, family member, professional, or a local watering hole. On the flipside, people need to be willing to listen and be open to their friends/family members/neighbors/co-workers reaching out as well. We can all be part of the solution. But the main message for everyone is don't be afraid to get help if you think you need it, and be open to helping others, even if it is just listening and trying to understand these issues can go a long way.

Dear Karine, I applaud you for having the courage to share this personal story. I wish you and your family the very best...no family is immune to mental health issues and talking about it helps spread awareness and reduces the stigma (which I have never understood). We also need more athletes to share their stories like Stephane Richer, Paul Ranger to avoid tragedies where helplessness led to very tragic endings.

Thank you for sharing your story Karine, glad to hear you're doing better. I have a few very close friends that have suffered or are still suffering from mental illness, and it's nice to see that attitudes towards mental health care have evolved, and are still changing.
