Zucc, Kreider, McQuaid and Skjei to Colorado for Ottawa's 1st and Colin Wilson. (retained salary on Zucc)

Skjei does not look like the guy NY signed to a long term deal. He has been more tolerable with McQuaid in tow. High risk/high reward selling on Skjei but Colorado gets a guaranteed young Dman and NY avoids a possible bad contract.

Kreider and Zucc immediately give Colorado desperately needed forward depth. Kreider is more than just a rental and Zucc could probably be convinced to resign if the team is competitive.

Colorado gets 2 quality assets and a rentals in exchange for what basically amounts to Matt Duchene.

NYR will sink hard and fast with this group gone along with Hayes. They are almost assured to have 2 picks in the top 5 (their own and OTT) giving them crucial core pieces to add to Kravstov and a potential UFA which instantly changes the face of the team.

Joe sakic says I fleece teams not the other way around. Kevin “I’ve never had 50pts” Hayes will at most get a 2nd rounder and a fourth, he is unrestricted, so most likely a rental. You really think teams are going to give up a top prospect and a high draft pick ?

Yes. Because again teams moved a 1st round picks or for the likes of

Antoine Veremette
34 year old broken down Rick Nash
Jason Pomenville
Martin Hanzal
Patrick Eaves
36 year old Jarome Iginla

Ya teams that are cup contenders do those type of trades. Avs right now are not so why would they waste a high end pick for someone who won’t be there next year ? Think Mcfly think

I just want this team to go definitively in one direction or the other.

If this team finishes high enough to get the 8th-12th overall pick and all they do is move Hayes and Zucc for what will amount to some extremely late 1st rd pick(s) and some mid tier prospects we all know what will happen...

NY will go off the board and draft a McIlrath/Andersson type with their highest pick and the others will develop into serviceable but not elite talent.

We will spend the next decade finishing somewhere between 7th and 10th in the conference

I never said the Avs. You said team(s) don't make that type of deal. I just showed you that teams do in fact make those types of deal.

Yes teams do but the Avs won’t as they are not in the position of the teams that would. How did it work out for those teams by the way ??

No way Bellows & a first for Hayes.

The most he fetches is a 2nd rounder. He's a rental.

Hard pass.

I don't care how it worked for them. I just know it's happened more than once. So you're wrong.
