Karine Hains: Byron Receives a Three Game Suspension In the second period of the Habs match-up against the Florida Panthers, Paul Byron got a 2 minute penalty for charging. Yesterday he received a much bigger sanction from the NHL Player Safety department.

His feet left the ice....it's pretty much an automatic suspension

2 games for that + 1 more game because the "victim" has concussion.

Byron is off until February 3rd, he will be fully rested for the final sprint.

Once more, the league proves its Montreal Canadiens bias. How is this hit any different than Wilson's? When I saw it last night, I expected 10-15 games. Another brutal suspension by the league.

I was surprised with Byron never being suspended before, that he got 3 games, the hit didn't seem that bad, I guess the league is cracking down more.
