Interested to see what happens with Weise and how they fill that roster spot.

I'm hoping they bring up someone like Aube-Kubel.

Also, if the Flyers want to spark at least passing interest from the fans still paying attention (other than bad "Lose for Hughes" takes), a win tonight against an opponent like Boston would be nice.

Question for you guys. What would you give up for a legit #2 centre. One who can skate, great at faceoffs, great defensively, can score 25-30 goals a yr,scored 20 goals even strength last 2 yrs,got some grit to his game and will make 4.5 million the next 4 yrs.He is also 28 yrs old

I bought tickets solely to grab a Gritty doll tonight. Wish me luck; they sold old before puck drop the night of Hart’s debut.

Hard to believe any team would be looking to move a guy like that.

Have to see what happens. If he is not claimed, he could remain with the team.

@MJL, I have a feeling he's going down. The reactions from the players seem to say that they think he is either getting claimed or headed to the A.

They killed off a PP in overtime only to lose in a SO.

"Lose for Hughes" doesn't just mean being a seller. Finishing 31st would mean that Provorov and Ghost probably struggle the rest of the season, Patrick's big game on Monday was an aberration and he struggles, Hart either goes back to the Phantoms or hits a wall and struggles. If those players do well, there will be still be enough vets remaining (Giroux especially, but also Couturier and others) to not finish last in the NHL.

The Flyers are going to be a lottery team, and the lottery luck will be whatever it will be. But if the purpose is to get better as a team and have the outlook for next season and beyond be considerably brighter than it is for this season, it is short-sighted (IMO) to think that the implications of finishing last -- as pertains to the second-half performances of the aforementioned players, and perhaps also to someone like Konecny -- would be magically cured by an 18.5 percent of drafting first and taking Hughes.

A best-case scenario for the Flyers is that Provorov and Ghost get back on track, Hart continues to play well, Patrick surges in the second half, and the Flyers still fare decently in the lottery. Add that to collecting assets (which can then be packaged pre-draft for NHL-level help) and having a lot of cap space this summer, and that's a brighter outlook both for next year and beyond. At least that's how I see it.

Most likely. Weise might have been told what is going to happen which is why some players commented. Might see him sent down and a player called up.

He could, yes. However, that wasn't the vibe yesterday. It is also not the norm to put out a press release to announce a player is on waivers. Only the subsequent roster move of AHL assignment if a player is unclaimed usually brings about an official announcement.

It may sound stupid but I feel you get better mojo by playing it out straight. Like when they moved up for Patrick. Feel like just hoping to lose gives you bad mojo for winning the pick.

My thought exactly, this did not have the feel of roster maneuvering, this had the feel of moving on from the player (for now, i guess).
