I'm going on record now.

Obviously I am not a fan at all of his game.
While he is young, I just don't think of him as a top six, nor a having a skillset for a 4th liner. So, to me he projects as a 3rd line player and believe the estimate of 15G's is fair...don't see him creating alot of opportunities for others..so I'll allocate another 15A's ...15-15-30.
Meh.
Like Nylander, I'd include him in a package to sweeten the pot for a proven, young player with some term left that can push for 2nd line minutes effectively.

- IonSabres

I'm on record as saying tagecakes is 20 years old.

I've seen some flashes of an nhl player

Weird how people want to crush the prospects at such a young age?

Let's trade him ..... we are gonna win the cup this year

My problem is he isn’t good enough for the top line, and not disciplined or good enough on D for a checking role. He’s an in-betweener
- sbroads24

He gets 78% defensive zone starts this year, and is -4 , with RelCorsi of 0.2 and PDO of 99.1.
At about 15:00 TOI and given his role, those are pretty good stats...he is a serviceable 4th liner until Botts gets the middle 6 figured out.

They all need to score points. Erod on pace for 20-23 currently. Larry 10-12

They all play PK

- jcragcrumple

Eh. This is like saying Erod and Jack both play the PP

28, and 22 are the two main PK’er by almost double of any other Fwd

Edit - Sobotka is the 3rd pK’er

#agenda

Bag on 22 and 28 non stop for months for not scoring goals.

Then 22 and 28 have 3 goals each

Erod is fast and penalty kills....

2 goals
Turn over machine

He’s ok. I liked him last year.

His speed is an asset. He has games where he can get some shots on.

Everything else has been bad. Turnovers and taking penalties won’t cut it on the teams bottom 6, and he is t good enough to be a teams 2nd best center or top 4 on the wing.

If he cut out the stupid plays it might work.

53 minutes for Erod vs 85 for Larry, 68 for Sobotka

So yeah, Erod is the 4th most used forward. 53 minutes is not a small amount

He's 21 and 3 months, lol...you now sound like the Nylander defenders.
He is moderately young and highly likely to be a medicore 3rd liner.
Hardly the last hill I would die on to defend.
He is big, but doesn't use it to his advantage.
He has a heck of a shot, that he struggles to get off timely.
He is likely to remian cheap, as he should since he is a project.
He has upside no doubt, I just don't see him getting there...3rd liner...not that there is anything bad with that...but hell if some GM thinks they can make him a top 6...give him to them.
Never met him, so I'll defer yo you on the likeability chart...doesn't mean much to me if they don't produce.

Let's package him to get someone who can deliver what is needed, he isnt going to contribute to the cup in 3 years time.
(Who in there right mind thinks the Sabres are cup contenders this year?...I'm excited, beyond happy with their present playoff position...here's to hoping they can hang on)

He has yet to play a full NHL season. How can you possibly say he won’t contribute to a cup run?

You and Fitz might be the only two who don’t like his game.

They brought him up about 5 times last telecast on how well he’s developing.

He also has taken the second most penalties of any forward besides Okposo, with less ice time.

Penalties are stupid plays

Yeah that's what the "stats" say, this is the second most commonly overscored/underscored stat in hockey other than "hits".

Watch him with the puck, he doesn't know what to do with it.

He loses it all the time.

Good post.

I thought he was a year younger.

Definitely not a nylander fan.

Mainly because he hasnt showed anything at the NHL level.

Tagecakes has shown a little promise.

I'd say okposo is more of an issue.
Overpriced and not young or improving

There’s a reason he’s never stuck with a center or on a any line in the few years he’s been here.

I just think he’s a spot forward at this point

He's so good that he is leading a team that some had winning the cup this offseason to a 14-16-4 record. 2 years from now when hes as useful as Okposo we are going to be looking back and laughing at the return we got in that trade. It was never about this year, the deal was made with the future in mind and needing the future cap space.
- Pegullaville

I don’t get why you (and others) ASSUMES this?
He’s 27, not 32

And as far as StLouis’ record goes...
ROR is over performing his normal numbers, and it’s somehow his fault?
That’s just dumb

we need to remove some bodies from the roster still

I would like to give bailey one last shot and get nylander up for an extended look before the season ends

Agree on Nylander, mostly cause I think it is now time for rhem to make fheir final evaluation on whether to use the asset for someyhing else (package deal) or to further burn another year of development time.

They do need to cull-back on the number of contracts for sure.
Candidates to unload at the TDL IMO
-Scandella
-Hunwick
-Sobotka
-Pommer
-Okposso, but I think that is an offseason move, not a TDL

If JBotts can unload 2 and Pommer at the TDL, that would be freakin huge

- IonSabres

I don’t think Pommer goes anywhere

Okposo is probably too hard to trade inseason (and maybe overall unless he starts scoring again)

The others make sense & i could see them moved

I think pilut has earned the right to stay here, but I could see him being stent back for a little bit. Out of all the guys, Nelson, hunwick, scandella are my choices to say bye bye too. Everyone else has played pretty damn good this year. If they could jettison hunwick and/ or scandella that would be a nice savings on the cap, and make room for pilut to come back...

Ristolainen dahlin
Bogo. Pilut
McCabe, boy-u.

Nelson- Sits

Guhle is in Rochester.

I could live with this defense... they have exceeded my expectations this year and other than bogo they are all going to get better still. Dahlin and pilut have really been huge adds on this team.

- gordong

I think we all wanna see him stay,
but the numbers game probably gets him sent down until Botts can move a defenseman or 2

Gotta love what he’s done with the defense in such a short time
Imagine if Antipin had worked out too?

Thompson?
It’s not like i said he sucks
I just don’t think he’s some stud prospect

Of course he’s looked better, but his start was so freaking brutal that it would be almost impossible not too

He’s still not scoring with that awesome shot of his
And there’s still games where i don’t notice him much at all

Him on the 4th line is stupid though
At least put him with Mitts
