I think I would rather see a coaching change first at this point.

That blog was a sugarcoating of what really took place out on the ice tonight. Love ya Bill but the players laid down tonight. Disgusting effort no one wanted to be out there

Might see that, too. I don’t even care what happens at this point. Just that they do something. Anything.

That JVR signing is going to be an anchor. I was at the game tonight and he was horrible. Basically invisible. Patrick and Provorov were both give away machines as well. Both those two need to be much better
Hakstol not pulling the goalie on the PP with 3 mins left should be his undoing, that was such an easy call. His explanation after was that he was waiting for a whistle to set it up. WTH?

Are they large enough to fit a body?

I know that JVR was out a while with an injury, but he's invisible on the ice. Hakstol and staff must go. Wacthing the Flyers right now is painful. Hopefully Fletch makes some moves soon?

I just saw the Flyers posted on Facebook that they're waiving service fees on Santa Sacks. The comments section is gold.

I just don't care anymore. Until something tangible happens this team is toast.

10 game losing streak is happening before our eyes

I expect second market tickets to drop like a rock in the next couple days for next week's games

They should use that in marketing. Santa body sacks.

Synergy - a whole that is greater than the simple sum of its parts. This team is the exact opposite of that term right now. The parts, generally, are good, but the sum of those parts produces LESS that what the sum ought to be...and continues to do so consistently.

I can only surmise that the team has totally quit on the coach or has an internal cancer that has not yet been identified externally.

It's so sad as a fan. Was very hopeful that this was the year that the work and patience put into the last 4 years was going to start paying off. I believe in the youth of this team. I also am of the opinion that G needs to be here to help turn this around (again). However, the time for roster and coach changes is now.

Jake - I've enjoyed him as a Flyer for many years, but what happened to the Jagr look alike who would dig for pucks, carry, and shield the puck in the O zone to open up time and space for other players? It's gone. Defensive lapses were a given, but without the magic brought in the O zone with the dominant puck possession - it's not enough to justify the cost.

Wayne - Can't justify the cost and term for what is now a lesser of his former self. I don't see the next 6 - 7 years bringing more than what he is today, so pass on the big dollar contract that he'll get this off-season.

JVR - Is he regretting his decision to come back? He looks like he doesn't care at all. If I were Fletcher, I'd be taking calls on him.

I called out these three specifically because they need to be leaders right now - not followers, or worse, passengers. I'm just not seeing that in their on-ice performance.

However, to end on a positive note - @Bill M - you are the reason why I continue to come to the site. Thank you so much for all the effort and hard work each and every day! Your insights and matter-of-fact writing are invaluable to us fans.

That was bad.
I almost hope Hakstol dresses all the healthy scratches and sits some of the deader of dead weight. Simmonds looked lost, Ghost looked worse than he did as a rookie.

Only 2 teams in the entire NHL, both in the Western conference, have fewer points and a worse goal differential than the Flyers.

Yay us.

FFS, fire Hak. If you don’t have a replacement ready, make Holmgren the interim coach. It would be a fitting punishment for him! Also tonight’s game, the 3 scratches should be Simmonds, JVR and Ghost, and let Lyon start. Stolie doesn’t deserve the torture of playing behind these clowns in back to back nights.

In nearly a half century of following this team, I’m as disgusted as I’ve ever been. This is a flat out embarrassment!

Any one of the assistants can fill in as interim coach. It's really not that big of a stretch for them to fill.

Attendance is going to take a big hit soon. Maybe that will light the fire to get something done.

Strangely enough, it appears the Hextall firing did nothing other than have new coaches producing the same result, so whatever goal they were trying for failed.

If we are giving up now (with no goalie, we should) we need to sell movable assets to try and get a clearer picture of what we want to be going forward.)

NMC clauses are made to be negotiated away.

I think they recognized that Hak kind of had his hands tied to some extent and wanted to give him his fair shot at turning this thing around. I'm ok with that.

Unfortunately it looks like a coaching change may still need to be made. It's either that or majorly overhaul the roster to fit what Hak wants. But we all know which of the two is the realistic option.

Every day this drags on it is going to get worse and worse.

I wonder how much more other teams are asking for their players after every lose the team looks like this. The players look like they are stressed out worried about whether they should sell their house.
