Losing this game would've been tough to swallow. With your two top scorers still out until January most likely, you can't afford to lose games like this. The margin for error just isn't there right now. That being said though, having Turris back on the ice already makes this offense feel a little less hapless. I know he doesn't score as much as some fans want him too, but just having him back in the lineup makes it feel like the Preds aren't trotting three 3rd lines onto the ice at times.
Now if they all scored like the Preds 3rd line is right now, I could probably live with that. The combination of Bones, Watson, Sissons, and whoever else gets put with those guys right now, are playing really well. I know it's not sustainable, they're bottom six for a reason, but the Preds are getting good production out of those guys at a time when they really need it. If they get anything at all from that group once Arvy and Filip are back, (Put Hartman and Calle in that group too when they're not moonlighting in the Top 6) and the Preds offense should be in good shape. I still think they need another legitimate Top 6 forward if they're going to compete with teams like Tampa, Toronto, and Winnipeg though. |
