They're all too busy looking at Toronto to realize that Winnipeg has to sign almost half their roster and will only have about $27 million to do it with.

I understand it's early and a deal could be reached far before, but if Tkachuk becomes an RFA the Blues should offer sheet him. Possibly could come home and replace

Once Nylander signs a deal all of the coverage that has been dedicated to him is going to move to steaming hot takes and offer sheets. I am really looking forward to it. hot take season is around the corner

I could see Laine wanting lots of $$$. He has a disposition of some cockiness and arrogance, which is fine I guess, until it’s contract time. I’m interested to see how it all blushes out. When he scored five goals in one game the other day I could hear the cash register going ding ding ding in my head.. Somebodies going to get a bridge deal anyways, they don’t have much of a choice..

I would be very happy with 8x8 for Tkachuk. Our internal cap system of not paying anybody more than the Captain (6.75) is not going to work with Matthew I don’t think.. 🤔

The salary cap formula needs to be adjusted. Count on it being a key issue in the CBA negotiations. The owners will want to reduce the 20% max per player and the PA could agree if the cap is increased more quickly.
A win-win for everyone except teams like Arizona, Carolina, Florida.

That means a 15 mil offer sheet to Mathews could get matched by a 13x8 contract....and we can make it so front loaded with bonuses etc that it would be uber appealing to stay
