Anderson on the 4th is killing me. I think putting him on the wing on 3rd line & demoting strome to 4th C should be the way to go

In the last 2 victories, the Rangers have played over 5 minutes combined against their opponents having an empty net without scoring. Maybe Grabner really had some skill after all...

seems to be a method to Quinn's madness though

Chytil was playing those limited 4th line minutes too and now look at him

bringing the young guys along slowly and then letting them loose

I get what he is doing

Grabs would've fit in well with this team but you gotta leave spots open for youngsters coming up/down/around/side to side.. etc. I really don't understand why McLeod gets any playing time on this team. Andersson is stuck playing with this bum of a winger and it makes me (frank)ing sick.

McLeod isn't an offensive player by any means, but he has played well in the term he is meant to serve. He won't lose a spot for failing to do what the coach wants. When Zucc is back, as i said in the blogs, I would expect Fast down on the fourth line, likely with Andersson and Fogarty.

Grabner was the man when it comes to empty netters (stat padders). If I’m not mistaken, he had 2 ENs in the same game last year

From Larry Brooks’ column today:
“The 15-3 disadvantage in five-on-five attempts (from the first period)? It was 30-15 thereafter the other way, 12-6 in the second and 18-9 in the third. Dallas had seven shots in the first period, 10 the rest of the way, including one over the first 11:34 of the third as the Rangers protected the 2-1 lead they’d gained at 4:32 on Filip Chytil’s big-time goal-scorer’s goal. This was one of the Blueshirts’ most stubborn defensive efforts in years.”

Lookin' good right now!
I only saw the last 15 minutes or so, but I swear the only mistakes I saw in that time were Chytil's attempt at the empty net (forgivable) and one failed clearing attempt along the half-wall.
A very refreshing change! It's almost like having practices where there is actual teaching and learning going on and the installation of accountability and a work ethic can make your club get better!

Don't worry. There will be enough obsessing and female doging when Pittsburgh completes their impromptu tank and ends up with Hughes.

The Rangers need to install a culture of accountability and winning, especially with so many young kids playing. When you start to lose year after year, that culture takes hold and it's hard to break it. I am not saying that this team makes the playoffs, because they probably won't, but I also have no interest in tanking games trying to finish with the worst record in the league for an 18% chance of Jack Hughes. I like Jack Hughes. I would love to have him. But, as of right now, I am sick of hearing his name because if we are being honest, no matter how bad we are, the chances of him becoming a Ranger are very small.

I intend to enjoy the season and if the Rangers are stinking up the joint after the New Year then at that point I'll start worrying about next year's draft.

Well New Years is only about a month away, so I am thinking they will still be in a playoff spot by then

With the way this team is playing, younger players stepping up over the last 5 games with Zucc out....maybe Zucc is expendable

True.

The standings are something else. It is amazing how bunched up everyone is. No one totally sucks.

I still believe the best way to increase the percentages of future dominance is by securing another high pick but I can't argue with games like last night, I'm not a believer yet but can this team be already headed back in the right direction?

BTW when was the last time Hank faced less than 20 shots in 60 minutes, that's gotta be a trivia question

Honestly I don't think this was a question, he's a great Ranger by persona but it's time to move on.

Loving the team. I have always been mixed with trading Hayes. I don’t think I do it. Zucc, however, should be traded playoffs or not. They gotta make that trade

Hearing the Bruins will be without top line center and 4x Selke Trophy winner Patrice Bergeron for “an extended period of time”... w/ upper body injury.

The latest, and most significant, on a list of injuries for the B’s.
