Rick Sadowski: Grubauer gets start against Ducks; Zadorov felt "disrespected' by benching

Starting to feel like the beginning of the end of Zads time in Colorado. With Ian Cole coming in and being a rock so far, Girard a budding star...its going to be tough for him to find that ice time in the Top 4.

I wouldnt be shocked to see him moved as trade bait to get some scoring depth in the Top 9. Makar is coming this spring so thats just one more guy that D Core that would be eating up minutes.

The big guy just has to do what makes him effective, keep moving and using the body. When he stops skating he takes bad penalties and will always be in the dog house when he does that

I totally agree! Might be best to move him out for some offense.

I agree Coga. Obviously he is better than Barbs, he just needs to put in the effort and him saying he feels disrespected is interesting. Makes you wonder what is going on behind the scenes, I do love big Z when he is doing his thing, but if he gets traded for some forward help, I won't complain.

Who would of seen This coming a year or two ago. Avs trading a d man for forward help. Times are looking up

Might as play the dude tonight, Lindholm is out. The Ducks will be playing 4 rookies on defense tonight. Time to get behind the Lose for Hughes mantra.

Z feels disrespected and stops skating on the first Ducks goal and takes a lazy penalty leading to the second Ducks goal...

Bad attitude from Z, he has to stop taking bad penalties. I would hate to see him go, just want him to wake up and smell the roses.

Is there talent here with this guy? I remember his draft year, Mark Hunter said he had the highest cieling of any player he had ever seen.

What kind of offensive help are you guys looking for? I know the devils are pretty bare up front but Zads seems to bring a lot of what we lack, especially since we have no physical defensemen at all lol and we just all around need help on our blue line.

He has all the parts and tools, but no instruction manual between the ears. When he was with the Sabres he lacked discipline in terms of tardiness, etc. Rob Ray, who is a color analyst for the Sabres, really took a shine to the kid and always checks in with him when the Sabres play the Avs. He said Zadorov has grown up a lot. My personal opinion from what I saw mostly with the Sabres is that the dude just has poor decision making/hockey IQ. He most certainly has all of the tools though

I would agree with that, he has grown up and is a pro player now and you are exactly right, his issue is just mental lapses making the lazy play over the right play which usually happens when he stops skating

He had a rep in the league now and gets a lot of penalites called on him for being too big and too strong at times. So when anything borderline happens he will never get the benefit of the doubt.

When Z is engaged and skating, he a force.

There is talent there, but you have to take the good and the lack lustre with him.
