Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks are home for 2 games, looking for a win against the Habs The matchup between super-rookies Elias Pettersson and Jesperi Kotkaniemi will be just one storyline to watch as the overachieving Montreal Canadiens visit Rogers Arena to take on the Vancouver Canucks on Saurday.

Hopefully the Canucks are rested and we get an entertaining game. Bergevin was considered one of the worst GM's in the league this summer, with Chiarelli and Benning, but Montreal and Vancouver have surprised a few thus far.

It looks like the farm team is developing perfectly, learning how to be injured.

I still believe he is one of the bottom GM's in the league.

Habs have kept it rolling while Van has hit a tough spot. Would be nice to see some competition at home today. Keep it close maybe snag a point in OT?

It's amazing to me how one player, or just the right mix of a few players, can turn a team in the right direction. To me both Bergevin and Benning have a nice mix of kids now to turn their teams around. Canucks need to build a bit more but you can see some very good positives.

Canucks just went through a brutal road trip and they've got some key injuries, perhaps a blessing so they don't overachieve?

I agree, Bo has been instrumental, in turning this team around.

The Habs top 9 have missed a combined 4 games - the only guy really missing is Porn star Paul Byron - so that might have something to do with it....

Yeah but there have been a few games where they have just checked out.

Defensively for the guys they have they aren't that bad
CA/60 = 17th
SA/60 = 20th
HDCA/60 = 22nd

The structure may be there, but their goaltending is still trash.

2 goal difference between them and Flyers, who sit at 25th in goal differential.
Las I looked flyers were down 2-0 so about the same spot as Canucks.
I only use Flyers as an example because some like to tell us how much better the Flyers organization is

Both teams are model franchises and itโ€™s very possible that both will meet each other in at least 1 SCF within 5 years

Good call. I picked 4-2 Canucks, last thread. Also had Jake with a goal.

I like what both teams have been doing since the management change of 2014, although both have made some poor decisions.

Hopefully tonight Gaudette gets his first.

We better stop talking now - Marwood doesn't like optimism.

this is the team that set the market for a certain type of player, when they resigned Gudas, yet the 2 biggest flyer fans on here constantly botch about our same skill level guy, Gudbranson.
I find it quite comical.

Flyers no different than Canucks.
