Leafs need someone who can play defense. You add Montour and ritchie together and they don't make up for the offense you lost in Nylander and the team is no better defensively. And you want to add another piece on with Willy. Glad your not the GM.

I hope they play Moore this time. Trade Nylander already. Fire Dubas. Suck it Lums. If Wilson can have his suspension reduced, why not Zoidberg HOHO?

The team is no better having Montour play 20+ minutes a night next to Rielly and Hainsey on the bottom pair?

Other piece is a Rosen/Marincin/Holl to give them some D depth to facilitate the trade.

I suppose you’re expecting Doughty right?

Better defensively? no. Better offensively than having Nylander playing with Matthews? no.

Not expecting anything. They don't have to trade him. I wouldn't trade him unless I felt I was winning the trade.

If you don’t see value in pushing Hainsey down the depth chart I’m not sure I put much weight in your opinion.

Yeah it bothers me that the guy whos deal for Nylander hinges on us getting Nick Ritchie back doesn't value my opinion.

Obviously pushing Hainsey down the depth chart would help if you were doing it with a better defensive defenseman. You want to trade an offensive player for an inferior offensive player and think it'll make the leafs better.

The LA Kings are:

A) Worst team in the NHL in the standings.

B) Worst offensive team in the NHL.

C) Missing their top two goalies and are now on option C, Budaj.

Therefore...

Sparks should be starting tonight.

This isn’t EA sports, you must pair offensive and defensive! Montour is likely our second best defenseman instantly.

Rielly finally gets a D partner that can skate and make a first pass out of the zone.

No, no improvement there.

If you can't play your back-up against a team with the fewest goals for, fewest points and on their third string goalie, then you may as well not have a back-up at all and just run Andersen 82 games straight.

This is the perfect game for Sparks to play.

Ok all honesty who do you expect to receive as a defender for Nylander?

The worst part is what it tells Nylander's teammates. "I don't give a (frank) about you, just myself." Even if he does end up on another team nobody will ever trust him again. Luckily the Leafs are doing very well and they don't need him, it would be devastating if the opposite were true.
- TrashPanda

False.

His teammates are rooting for Nylander because the more money he gets, the more money they get. Specifically, Matthews and Marner. At the end of the day, if they have to overpay to keep Nylander, the guys that get moved are the Browns of the world. Don't think for a second that the players will side with management when it comes to contract figures.

Doughty, Pietrangelo, Ekblad or Hamilton...

OR GTFO.

Nylander is the ticket to get a #1 RHD. If they can't get one today, get him back in the lineup, build his value up and wait until one becomes available.

Under no circumstances should Nylander be traded for some sack of poop and/or a 2nd pairing defender. Simply not worth it.

Yeah that would be nice, however I’ll bet you any amount you’re willing to wager that won’t happen.

Manson +, Pesce +, Hamilton but the only reason he'd be available would because of whatever the hell is wrong with him behind the scenes

Nylander shouldn't be moved. With Mathews being injury prone they will need the offense in the future.

Pietrangelo is playing 25 minutes a night and St Louis has no D depth, I find it amusing you think they’d trade him.
