Carol Schram: Eriksson, Gudbranson and Virtanen are driving the Canucks' offense. What??? The Vancouver Canucks blew a 3-1 lead but still picked up a point in their shootout loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday. With Elias Pettersson quiet and Brock Boeser back in Vancouver getting treatment for his groin injury, the team's offense is being led by three players who have taken plenty of heat over the last couple of years: Loui Eriksson, Erik Gudbranson and Jake Virtanen.

What do you think of the job Jim Benning has done during his tenure?

It's lookin' good from the lofty viewpoint of first place in the Pacific but of course it's a mixed bag. I supported an extension for him last year on the basis of his draft record.

Jim must be pleased to see three of his players who have received so much criticism all finding their game at the same time. The question now is whether this is sustainable...

Never been on team tank. Bunch of dirty douche bags. Cheering to lose is stupid.

I agree that it’s been very nice to see the past whipping boys playing well.
Would love to see JV net 20 + goals this year.

Team is overall better then it has been in past years. A lot of new faces learning how to win though.

I've never been on intentional team tank either. Tanking by accident is fine.

All of the college prospects are doing really well.

Does anyone have any news on Demko and how he is progressing?

I think the hope is that Demko might be able to play this week.

Last I saw with him was that he was taking some controlled shots from the goalie coaches but his injured hand is still heavily bandaged. That sounds like at least a couple more weeks to me?

Not sure why Gudbranson isn't on 1st PP, also Jake was the best player in the game yesterday, but couldn't get on the ice during PP in OT, kinda questionable move on coaching staff.

Yup.
Goldobin is being given every opportunity to score.
To a fault imo.
I get the sense that they’re give him the CoHo treatment in an effort to up his value.

I would be open to trying Jake on the PP in the Boeser spot

Thanks Carol!

Also, thanks Minivan. Don’t let those bullies dissuade you from posting mind numbing stats. I found it interesting that Pouls seems to be helping drive offense, even if he isn’t being rewarded with points, or that fans can’t see it. I guess Green is only half an idiot.

Doubt you get anything besides another team’s
disappointing player/prospect

At this point, yes.
But I still feel like the plan was to get him more touches with the hopes that he could get some points and inflate his worth.
Hasn’t worked out obviously.

With the playoffs being the goal that’s a bold move if Green doesn’t truly believe he deserves these minutes
