The fact that he averaged 50 pts per 82 for the full 1001 games of his career is impressive in the dead puck era which he played a lot of his career in. Class act all around. Did everything a team can ask for. Sucks losing one of the good ones but I'm happy for him to get his 1000 games and even happier that for once the Habs under MB got it right in this scenario and handled it with class...hopefully an indication of how the future will be handled by MB and Molson

I was convinced that it meant he was finishing the season in Montreal when he received that silver stick... To be honest I think he could've still helped out the team a bit, he was pretty much done offensively, but still could win faceoffs and bring a steady presence in the backend, without never really hurting the team
