Yep, going too fast of course Debrincat should be in the top 6 so with that let's reset assuming Nash will want to come in:

Saad/Toews/Debrincat

Nash/Schmaltz/Kane

Fortin/AA/Kahun AA and Schmaltz could interchange 2 and 3rd lines if need be

Kampf or Kunitz/ Kruger/ Hayden Kampf could also spell Kruger at center

Not a big Johnson or Martinsen fan

Again, Nash retired for health reasons.

This is not NHL19 - do you actually read before posting anything in that little dillusional world of yours???

Halloween night game, who should Joki be matched up against: Pettersson, Gaudette, Boeser, Horvat? This is asked when I have no idea about the lines for the Nucks, but after watching Joki essentially shut down McDonut, I have faith he can shut down anyone of those four.
And leading the hawks in hits ... #Jokiharmyou

Depends on the lineup. Tonight they have Pettersson and Boeser together but Horvat on a separate line. I’d guess Pettersson and Boeser will be Jokiharju’s matchup When Q can get it.

Petterssen is a magician with the puck. I’ve got young guns Dahlin (meh so far), Jokiharju, and Petterssen on my fantasy team. I had Svechnikov as well but he’s getting bottom 6 minutes (under 12min TOI) and it’s a 10team League so he got dropped this week. My fantasy team name is “Coach Q’s Mustache Rides”

Edit: wish the Avs or Devil’s would Rock this throwback. I bought one last winter

Yeah I was figuring it would be a know on the night sort of deal. Just wanted to know people's thoughts.
Nucks started out hot, but then quickly petered out to a .500 team ... injuries?

There's an Archer joke in there, but sadly, inappropriate for the boards ...

Really like the throwback. Too bad that one is scribbled on.

Not the first time the Canucks got off to a decent start then faded. Injuries have played a factor this year, but overall they’re a young team that isn’t too good.

That being said, the Hawks can’t look past the Canucks. Vancouver plays the Hawks hard each time, they spanked them 3 times last season.

Yeah, I member. Pretty embarassing. The Vanek line was problematic.

Don't think anyone has shared this yet but Powers is reporting that Boqvist does not have any concussion-like symptoms. Let's hope that is the case and nothing pops up later.

I was at the game in December with 2 of my boys, we had a blast but it wasn’t the outcome we wanted. The last few times I’ve seen the Hawks play in Vancouver they lost. I won’t be at the game tomorrow.

You've been jinxing us all along. Darth and Darth jrs. Jk. That's awesome though.

My littlest nephew, 1 of 4 that lives with me, he's been at games with me and my dad. It wasn't Van, but when Vermette was on Ari. The game he was tossed for what looked like boarding Arty, after his tribute video. I swear, we sat behind Borat. This guy was drunk, high fiving us (in a high scoring game) saying alright, nice! Came and left after the first period. Before he left, he turned to my nephew, took off his hulk hand foam finger, and put it on my nephew's hand. He said it's yours and left. I know the thing was 25-30 bucks. It made his night. Plus we won.

Thanks CT.

Davidson could be waived to head down to join 236 other defencemen in RFD, but I think the "issue" that Stan is trying to solve is ensuring he's not messing up with the growth of all of the defencemen in the AHL as well.

If guys like Gilbert Snuggerud and Tulola are only playing once ever few games, then you have an issue.

Gilbert might as well stayed in NCAA.

I have a future blog coming up with the pros and cons to the Hawks drafting over the last few years.

Spoiler alert: the cons are there are TOO MANY DEFENCEMEN!

- Justin Lowe

Sometimes the saying goes that it is a good headache to have. "It" is the fact that so many dmen were identified then drafted AND most of them have the pedigree to play in the AHL, perhaps NHL one day. Moreover, some have to beat out fellow prospects for a certain niche or spot on the Chicago defense. Be that it means one or many more seasons of playing before they seriously challenge for a spot.

One example could conceivably be, Snuggerud or Krys as the offensive part on a third pair. Ah, but what if Dahlstrom settled in to this spot. He would provide probably better defense but not as dynamic as the other two.

Makes you kind of guessing as to whether one or more prospects could be traded.

Darn it ........a hearache for me to try to make sense out of this Apparently Stan Bo wanted to upgrade the defense before the offense?

Krys is developing at a decent rate and working on the things management wants him to get stronger at, particularly play away from the puck and being hard to play against. He showed some considerable growth both during his sophomore year at BU and also during prospect camp this summer (albeit against his peer group, not NHL talent). So as long as he has a positive progression toward being an all-around defender, he should compete for a spot on the 3rd pair on the future blueline. It will be tough for him to out rank Jokiharju, Boqvist, Beaudin, and Mitchell.

Not sure about Snuggerud's upside. He may be an okay 6/7 D-man but he has several offensive youngsters ahead of him that he may be shut out due to the great depth and sheer numbers game.

Raddysh is in that same category as Snuggerud.

Hillman, Carlsson, and Gilbert at least differentiate themselves as defensive defensemen to be possible candidates to provide much needed defensive muscle.

Maybe Tuulola gets in the mix?

Dahlstrom is a pretty agile skate for a big man. His defense is decent and could be average or better if he can show consistency at the NHL level.

Consistency at playing actual defense is what is going to make or break prospects. That's why Gustafsson, Rutta, Manning, and Davidson are so sharply criticized. They're mediocre to bad at consistently defending.

What’s missing?

A legit 2C

A legit 3C

2-3 wingers to play in the top 9 and provide scoring

A legit top pairing defenseman

A legit 3rd defensive pairing

A good power play

A good PK

Other than that we’re in good shape

True - The FO has to look at the Detroit team right now and avoid being the next one like that. Maybe at the TDL, it will be time to make a big deal for the future. Maybe Keith and Crow can bring the most back in a trade?

Could be wrong but I think they are already avoiding what's happened in Detroit. Look at the ages of say Lidstrom, Zetterberg and Datsyuk when the Wings started trying to inject some new blood into the lineup.

Even when they did, the guys that came up (Nyquist and Tatar) were a year younger than Toews and Kane respectively; who were 23 and 24 and had aleady been playing in the NHL for several years.

But really the Wings bigger issue has been drafting defense.
