Anthony Travalgia: Where is the secondary scoring? The Bruins haven't got much production outside the Bergeron line

Possible down side to loading up your best forwards on one line. Not that its a bad idea, that line is so dominant, its just a part of being in a cap world. Once in a while theyre not going to score for whatever reason.

Cassidy hasn't learned from Tampa shutting down that line in the playoffs last year. If this team is going to go anywhere they are going to have to break up that top line to spread out the scoring as Sweeney's trades leave a lot to be desired (read that as "We'd better hope he doesn't try to make another deal for a top 6 forward or else you can kiss another couple top prospects and another 1st rounder goodbye for some other over the hill winger") Krejci and Pastrnak looked great playing together after last season's playoff exit and it hasn't sunk in to management's heads that "Hey we could have 2 good lines here". Let's face it, Krejci is on the downside of his career and at least Pastrnak might pump up his wheels so he is actually a decent #2 center.
I'd much rather have a winning team capable of spreading around the offense over bragging rights of 'having the best line in hockey' any day.

First mistake was starting Rask. His career record is despicable against Montreal. What happens, of course he lets in a softie.

Montreal played the boring Claude trap perfectly and Bos couldn't generate anything. Game over.

This Bos team is in huge trouble in terms of being a contender. Make the playoffs = yes and will look good this year but lets face it they won't be getting by the powerhouses in the East with 1 line.

lol...they played a trap? Looked like scrambly D bullpoop, dump and chase with the wheels to back it up. If you mean quick transition, I agree. Donato should have had more help and Cassidy didn't see it that way

Yes I would call it a trap. I’m not sure what else it is? It’s not a bad thing. That is how Claude coaches. Montreal is fast for sure but defensively they clogged the middle and did it well and didn’t give up much in front of Price.
If you think the Habs are high flyers this year you might be mistaken...

Scoring goals doesn't matter when your goalie can't stop a beachball. Stop (frank)ing around Cassidy.

As obvious as it is, Bruce won't break up that 1st line, I mean in his defense it is still Early and they are really looking for someone to step it up and Play with Krejci and DeBrusk. so far, Not so Good
Heinen looks lost this year, idk I'd rather see one of those guys (Bjork,Heinen,Donato) play with Bergeron & Marshy and drop Pasta to really jump start secondary scoring, That Leafer had a good point, Once your in the playoffs the #1 thing the opponent is going to do (or try to do) is smother the Bergy line.

That was just painful to watch Saturday Night.

Put Krejci in the pressbox already...if he can't finish opportunities like the one he whiffed on the other night he isn't good for anybody. For being a great "give and go player" he whiffed on a game changing opportunity.

Then let the young guys grow together and learn to make plays. The NHL is all about speed, as Chara witnessed first hand standing in front of the net the other night. This team is still only one line and don't stand much of chance till something changes.

I don't think Krech is the issue here.
Sure he's overpaid, but the dude is still a world class pivot.
He needs guys to distribute to, and those guys to finish.
Debrusk is a fine young player but he's not exactly lighting it up.
Neither are Bjork, Donato, or Heinen.
It takes time.
It'll be fine.
4th line is a little concerning though.

they're biggest off season need was another top 6 forward, but they've chosen to promote from within. Worked last year, til the 2nd round, we'll how it goes this year.
