I will say it to you, BGK, and whoever found the comment offensive, I apologize and will delete it. Cheap attempt at levity and saying the old Crow is back.

No worries Breadman. Heck man if Crow wasn't in net last night it would of been a blowout. Glad to have Mid-season Crow back

Saad refused a bridge deal. He wanted the big boy contract. Demanded big $$ and long term. He got his wish. With that, he cant just show up and go through the motions.

Maybe HE should stop jerking around the team and show up and produce...I dont knows...every game?

Maybe Q, Stan, and the people that pay him big $$ to produce dont like the way Saad is handling his play now that he got paid? And Saad needs to "handle the situation better" by doing something other than sucking and crying like a baby that "he doesnt know why he's on the fourth line"?

If he wants to know why, they should hand him his contract to review, and the video of his last 90 games or so. And anyone else confused or that doesnt understand, can sit right next to him.

Harsh but not necessarily horrible. I remember Steve Dahl years ago talking about baseball...

“You’re getting paid millions of dollars to play a little kid’s game...no excuses!”

Ok, good. Nothing I say is meant to harm, but I have a sick and twisted sense of humor. I'll come back at game time. Maybe Crow starts tonight? Maybe see you around here during game time.

If the team can play the way they did before Crow came back on most nights and Crow Just plays like Crow, I think this team could be in pretty good shape and make the playoffs.

I was 5 years old in my dad's pick-up, and he had Dahl on the radio, and when I was done laughing I said he drives me up a wall.

I saw Dahl's band at Taste of Chicago, when it was free to enter, he opened up for Elvis Costello.

Was a big Steve and Gary fan growing up but Tennage Radiation opening up for Elvis is more than a bit of a mismatched bill. Took me a second to remember what the song he did to “My Sharona” was...”Ayatollah!” Of course.

Deal or no deal, contract or not, $6MM or $600K - this is a guy with some size and some speed who had hit 22-25 and 50+ for several seasons.

12+17=29 in 83 games doesn’t cut it.

Toews, Kane, AdB play like they have - certainly. But can’t expect 3 per game from that trio every night.

Rest of the team has to play better and produce more.

I want to say Sheryl Crow was in the mix too. It's weird, and a horrible rain storm. The lady walking the aisles wouldn't let me stand on my chair to see. I was six feet small and couldn't see anything.

Thought it was just me. Both interviews since he came back have seemed much more stilted. He's never an fast-talking, flowery guy, but finding the words seemed to be harder for him than before.
- pdx2ord

I think we should also consider English is his second language. I remember he and Vermette doing an interview together back in the day and his French seemed to be faster paced.

Wait...now Saad is getting "jerked around" and deserves "better"?

This is a guy that demanded 6mil from the Hawks - at the time he was a RFA - when it was clear the Hawks couldn't afford it. He forced their hand to either pay or trade him. He got his money he demanded.

Now, he was moved down in the CLB lineup (why?), and now the same here - after not producing to his 6mil dollar demanded cap hit - HE'S the one being "jerked around"???

Gotta love millennials. Poor Saad, the victim. #himtoo

Is it me or does ADB look like he's taken his game to next level. Stick handling, speed, strength all aspects. 35-40 goals looks very realistic

Predators getting calls on Turris. Rumors swirling in Vancouver

October 21, 2018, 12:08 PM ET [2 Comments]

I am at a family event, but I had to put this out there now. The Predators May be up to something surprising...besides sweeping Alberta.

I am hearing Turris name out there and I was told by at least one source that if Turris was in a trade it would be a very big deal and the Preds would be “absolutely going for it.” I have always said, despite his Spock-like demeanor, David Poile is anything but cautious. Think about the deals he has pulled off recently...

Also, a source texted me a heads up: ”look into what is being talked about in Vancouver.” They are talking about making a deal that is being described as “the biggest trade they have made in a decade.”

Back with more after this event....probably around 3 ET. The fun never ends!

Thanks, EK. We look forward to your update, probably around 3 ET.

Any updates on Malkin and Chicago, or will you tell us...around 3?

Agreed they just have to clean things up. Maybe a trade to help either on the Forward or Defensive position.

All the good fans do.
I don't know if you've seen the movie, Anchorman. Vince Vaughan says in the movie, "Even the guy that can't think says something." That's me summed up. I'm probably going to do it all over again, not for a lack of trying, but because I'm an idiot haha. No shame in it. As long as you keep it in mind, but don't be afraid to call me out.

I didn't see the game (quick disclaimer, what freakin' Aurelio's does not have a damn tv on while there is a damn game on at the busiest damn time of the damn day?) Sorry, back to what I was saying.
I agree with you, and have picked up on it too. He's like Michael Jordan, the guy you put the whole team on because you know what he's capable of. As much damage as you want him to do on the pp, he's hurting it too. The guys look for him, he tries to be fancy, in his mind he can do it all, but he can't. One of the world's best hockey players isn't a secret to anyone, so the opp tries to make him a non-factor because all the passes for the perfect shot. Maybe find a different qb, other than Kane.

- I Am The Breadman

Agree with you guys about the PP. I mean Kane is great but the PP is predictable when he is the one on the half-boards with the puck. Last year and this year I've felt that the opposition keys on Kane really hard. I liked the end of last season, where Kane/Toews/Gustafsson were doing more puck movement up high. I don't know what the answer is, but a legit PP QB dman might help.

I'm not against it entirely, but there are 3 big things. I don't want to lose Saad, but if he keeps getting jerked around, fine, he deserves better than how Q is handling the situation. Duchene will be a ufa at season's end, and if we are getting him, I want him retained at a reasonable cost and reasonable term, seeing as he will want a lot for long because he deserves it and it might be the last big one he gets, we might not be his best fit. And finally, Ottawa gave up an arm and a leg for him, I'm thinking they will want an arm and a leg back seeing as they are without a first round pick, probably Hughes, I don't really want the hawks paying that.
- I Am The Breadman

In what way is Q “jerking him around”?? The guy is paid to be a top line player that produces goals and offense. He has not done that since the 1st week of 2017. It’s very clear, play better or you won’t play. The “poor Brandon” commentary on here is laughable considering you have a $6mil top line winger in his prime playing like a 4th line grinder.

I never said anything about liking how he's paid. You can be a high paid player and not produce, it happens every now and then every season. I don't like it, but living with it and hoping it fixes itself.

All I'm trying to say is how do you expect to get good results from a guy on different lines every other night?

Not clear at all, the wrong message is being sent.

It's simple. Drive the net hard - with and without the puck. Go get pucks in corners. Back check hard. Dont care what line you're on. Do those things, and hes a 60pt player. Dont, and hes a 35pt player. Any line. He needs to drive a line.

Not displaying the proper amount of anger at the situation is your problem. You need to be screaming and a bit more hysterical.

I can't say anything about last night, but that's what he does, one of the very few guys that does. He drives the net and parks in the blue. He's got a good d game, which is part of his payment, he plays 200ft. His offense is down and was down last year. All I'm doing is hoping for a goal and it could turn around for him.
