Has anyone noticed when Fuel by Metallica is playing before a faceoff, it's left on long enough so that "f@$! 'Em man" can be heard?

They flopped in the 2nd hard, but at least they didn't completely quit. Not a good game at all, but let's hope it leaves an impression on a few people that need to do better or maybe it will fuel pulling the trigger on a trade.

Cam Ward.

Cam Ward played great. He deserved better.
Signs of life from Saad and Schmaltz.
Joki still impressive.
Toews still looking good.
Kane always fun to watch.
Nice goal by Fortin.
PP goal too.
But those shots on goal, ugh.

Summed up perfectly. I'd add crappy penalties, weak starts, and other lines scoring.

They played 2 playoff teams this weekend and got completely dominated. This is who they are, even if Crow bails them out more than most goalies would.

Three first-of-season goals tonite - Fortin, Kampf, Schmaltz. Maybe that get some depth going.

Saad with several nice plays and more jump and aggressiveness and his engagement was much better.

An even tougher match up Tuesday in the Ducks, who are without some stars, but the kids are playing well.

Pretty much this.

Tampa Bay is good at hockey. They are not only fast but they are fast and in sync. They all move with a purpose and support each other all over the ice.

A perfect game to establish just exactly how far from being a contender this team really is.

Just embarrassing. 33 shots against in one period?? 55 shots against in regulation??

Folks, this is a last place team as constructed. I am also not convinced the maximum upside of any of these younger players makes them even a playoff bubble team.

Ugly ugly ugly.

This pretty much sums it up. I thought Cam Ward easily played his best game as a Hawk. The score doesn't' reflect this but Ward was stellar. Unfortunately the roster in front of him was not - which is on Bowman, and of course the PP crapped the bed as usual which is on Joel.

As Matt mentioned signs of life from Schmaltz and Saad...but we saw the depth and speed of Tampa. Sergachev who Stevie Y stole from the Habs didn't look to bad at all on the back end.

Tampa also set a record for SOG in a period that goes back to the expansion of 67-68. I thought Tampa's goalie was quite good as well. But what a baby every time the Hawks scored he tomahawked his stick on the net..pathetic.

And a special shout out to Wes McCauley- who continues to phuck the Hawks every chance he gets. 3 PPs in a row there for the bolts in the 2nd. And really slow with the whistle on not just one but two goals for them...great work tonight Wes.

Anaheim up next...

Seems that it is becoming more likely that Corey Crawford is and has been elite for a number of years and that he has helped hide this clubs deficiencies, not just this year and last, but likely for the prior 2 years as well.

That is something to ponder.

33 shots in one period.

This team will at least be more entertaining than last year. Whether someone else can do better or get more out of the group, one thing is for sure, at this point, there is not one quiver Q has that has not already been used.

well don't feel bad...there will more of these coming

poor cam ward...he probably didn't figure he signed on to be in shooting gallery every game...seeing more rubber than at a tire factory

3, 4, 7, 4, 3, 6 = 27 goals allowed: 4.5 GPG and honestly could be alot worse

this team is a multiple set of

It was nice to see them score a PP goal. I look forward to when they score another one come, say, December?

They got a great record. Maybe the second period alone this game will be the worst period of the season, but it will still be a tough game. Besides, west is better than the east, ignore the past 3 Stanley Cup champs.

The Lightning have a better record. And are better at every position. Probably the best team in the NHL.
