Tough loss, they controlled play for the first 40 minutes, but did not equal the intensity of the Knights for most of the 3rd. These games happen. At least you can take away some positives:

The PK was stellar
Provy finally looked like Provy
Elliott played extremely well
Weise and Lehtera actually looked decent
Laughton had a strong game
Sanheim played his best game of the season

Right now, it’s going to be tough without Patrick as they are just razor thin up the middle without him. Hopefully they can win a game or 2 before he returns, and get some momentum going. Also let’s hope that Lindblom is ok, this team cannot keep losing good forwards.

Provorov still struggled for a lot of that game in my opinion, especially in the second period. Agree completely about Patrick. Vorobyev has come a long way but he doesn't look completely ready to be a top 9 center in this league right now.

Figures, I missed most of the 2nd due to work. Thought Provy looked good in the first and solid in the 3rd, especially on the pk

I thought both he and MacDonald played better than they have been but neither is where they need to be yet.

In AMac’s case, I still wonder if he’s a 100%. For Provorov, I think the kid is pressing and trying to do too much. He just needs to relax and play his game.

I agree. I'm not worried about either player honestly. Both will be better, especially Provorov. He's been super human to this point. A few sub par games is not unexpected with a young player.

Despite the injuries, the Flyers looked and played more like a team today. If I was Hakstol, I'd switch Voracek and Konecny again.

Tough loss but you have those games.
Overall I thought the Flyers controlled the game, played better and just got beaten by MAF. Sometimes that happen.
THe save he made on that great Giroux move was ridiculous.
Hope Laughton isnt dead.

Laughton came back in the game and played. Do you mean Lindblom?

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I would scratch Weal, keep Weise and Lehtera in (for now) and call up NAK. I know Weal is a center but for the duration Patrick is out we easily could move G to center. I’ve been pro keep G on LW but Weal is just ineffective and is too small.

Gonna regret not signing Provorov to that 8 year $72 mil deal last summer.

There is nothing illegal about leading into a check with a forearm into a players midsection. It's done all the time. Lindblom lowered his posture which put his head in that area. The gray area is that although it was possible for McNabb to let up, he didn't have much time.
- MJL

Incorrect. Although Lindblom turns, his height does not change significantly. His posture was the same just turned backwards.

All I can do is laugh in disbelief. No this loss isn’t the end of the world and I have all the faith in the world that this team is a really good team. At least the best team we’ve seen in four years. Far better then a bubble team. The problem is, we won’t know unless we stay healthy.

I think we should keep the roster the same. We didn’t play a perfect game but we did play a good game today.

Misha has been making great decisions and little plays to set up chances in most if not all the games so far. I'd feel comfortable tasking him as 2C for a week, and I feel very comfortable with him as a 3C

Provorov was better positionally today and did look much more like Provorov, but he was still fighting the puck. I have no doubts he'll come around.

Once the 2nd period ended scoreless I had an inkling that the Flyers wouldn't score a goal in the game. I was thinking at best they get an OTL. Raffl and Laughton and even Lehtera were their best forwards IMO. They were phenomenal on the PK. Can't fault Moose on that late goal. Perfect play and shot from Eakin. He made a ridiculous play as Coots tried to clear it and finished it off with a fantastic shot. Weal/Konecny both had a chance to score and couldn't execute. Giroux's breakaway was a nice try but Flower wasn't letting anything in along the ice. It was clear after the 1st period the Flyers were going to have to elevate to accumulate. Tragic loss. Hopefully it's a learning lesson. Provorov is still not quite his normal self. He's starting to come around though. Jake was really good tonight and I've never seen Laughton play as well/confidently as he's playing now. Vorobyev is a little lost and needs to take a breath and settle in.

My only issue with Vorobyev isn’t even his fault. I think he has no business being on the Power Play. In fact, I think we have way better opinions.

To be honest not really much happend than the 2 MAF saves. The Hak trap must be painful to watch for those paying $400-500 for a seat.

Jake Voracek had one of the best games you’ll ever see a hockey player have in a shutout loss.
