NHL.TV? Is that a new change? I thought I remember someone female dogging last year because it used their billing address as the restraint.

"It's sort of turning into a special teams league. We need to be better on that front. It's early in the season, but just didn't happen tonight."
Nathan Beaulieu

I think it was less the Sabres being bad than the Avs being phenomenal. Jack had very little time after the first PP to work with, the Avs were very aggressive prompting a few turnovers leading to exits. And 2 posts on the PP hurt a lot, especially the Sam one. The other one hit on the outside of the post and glanced away, but Sam's came right back.

It's one of those games where nothing goes right. And though we dominated in Corsi again, this was a different game to Boston, there were chances tonight, bad luck, and not being in a prime area to capitalize doomed them. A defensive miscommunication along with a goalie staying deep in his net, boom, goal. And it took a good shot too, and players miss open shots all the time, the Avs didn't tonight. That 3rd goal by Soderberg was a microcosm of what went wrong.

You can turn this off. And Reddit is still the way to go over any paid service IMO.

Did this last year, no, it's based on IP if you're referring to NHL.tv.

On my phone it sniffed out that I wasn't using my location services. I was considering spoofing my location but that seemed like way too much work. Plus if I would try broadcasting via chromecast, the chromecast's IP gave it away.

So I turned off location services for my Mac, got a VPN, and viola I'm a Florida native.

Skinner needs to be with Eichel, IMO.

Try Skinner Eichel Sheary.

Huh? You used to not even be able to have a skate in the crease.

You have to try and avoid contact, even if it's incidental. That's the rule, it's been the rule forever.

- Wetbandit1

I love your supreme confidence in everything. In fact, if you have been watching the game for as long as I have you have seen the game morph quite a bit, lol.

Did some reading-up on the Goalie Interference Rule last night, then got drunk celebrating a rather significant family event....woke up to the same page on my tablet.

Found this, in a rather lengthy article about the rule which is exactly the way I understood it.
The rule is confusing, and as usual, it is enforced differently than written.

A final note - all those rules, save deliberate, recklessly dangerous or "other than incidental" contact with the goalie, go out the window in a rebound or loose puck in the crease scenario. If the puck is loose around a goalie's feet in the crease, incidental contact in the crease, using the body to prevent the goalie from getting to the puck and other crowding situations are perfectly legal so long as the attacking player is trying to get to the puck.

Really piss poor attempt at playing Hockey last night by the Sabres.. I am going to give this team 20 games before I thrown in the towel. Hoping they can stay around .500 then gel as a team and play better. They have way too much speed and talent not to be at least contending for that last playoff spot.

Yeah except here when Okposo's skate pulled Varlomov's pad out of the way preventing him from making a save

That is goaltender interference, it doesn't matter if the puck was there. As soon as I saw the play and replay I knew it wasn't going to count.

The point is neither team has been good, and until the Leafs actually win 4 playoff games they aren't either. Because, like you said, championships matter, first round exits don't.
- Wetbandit1

I hate the Leafs just as much as anyone here. Give them credit, they are fun to watch. They are like the 74-75 Sabres.

I would love to see the boys win 82+16 games in a row no doubt.

However, for me there is considerable fun in watching the team during the Transition Year.
Realizing the season will be a rollercoaster ride as they develop the younger players and try to find chemistry through the lineup.

As you mentioned, patience will be required during this season.
That said, I fully expect to go off the deep end a time or two, lol.

A young team that's going to play great some nights and terrible other nights.

They have been BAD for a LONG time. But they're showing improvement over last year. Just looking at the game the passing is better, defensive woes are down, the pucks just aren't going in for them.

Although it's not looking playoffs good, it is looking better overall.

You would know better how it is enforced.
Not to be offensive, but doesn't your statement fly in the face of what was written above?

All im saying is it appeared to me the interference was a by product of being pushed into the crease, the puck was in the crease, and it did not seem to be intentional, rather unintentional contact.

Okposo's own momentum carried him into the crease

I would like you to post the article you were talking about because there are several things wrong with what you wrote.

It is really simple, if the goaltender was prevented in anyway from making an attempted save due to the offensive players actions (other than being directly pushed into the goalie, which Okposo was not) then it is goaltender interference.

Unintentional contact means no goal, but not a penalty.

How is that the conclusion you came to? I'm genuinely curious. Even +/- in 6-1 loss. He played 20 seconds more than Berglund.

Other than the PP, I really didn’t think we were bad.

Skinner will start scoring
Mittelstadt will continue to get better, last night he was fine
Dahlin is already looking like a stud
Hutton is fine
Eichel was close to another multi-point night if it wasn’t for the interference and Sam Clankhart hitting another post

We will be fine

The overreaction makes me laugh

This is a team with what? 10 new faces?

They aren't even close to be firing on all cylinders yet.

I would like to see Dahlin be more aggressive once he gets more comfortable. There were a few times where he was timid about having the puck on his stick. He needs to play a little selfish and use his skill set more. But he is 4 games into his NHL career. He will learn.

I thought Casey was good last night

I also thought Thompson played well.

Colorado made Buffalo pay for their mistakes early in the game. There were times when Buffalo was dominating Colorado. Cycling the puck in Colorado's end for a solid 3 minutes. They just couldn't capitalize.

The score was ugly but the game itself wasn't nearly as one sides as the score.

I think the eye test of most would come to the conclusion of: Not Ready.

Though last night i would say he looked good.

Again, he was an even +/- while playing with Johan Larsson. Asking anyone to score goals with Larsson is unrealistic. Idk what the expectations are here
