Do you or anyone know the specifics? When? Is it Seattle? Will the same rules of Las Vegas apply again? I'm going over a list in my head of who we could lose, and it seems like it will be a young forward. - I Am The Breadman
I do not know the answer to that, but if I am the new owners I make sure they are as part of the agreement, Stanley Cup final and all! |

I just heard something yesterday from my buddy that the NHL execs recommended granting Seattle an expansion team or something. I don't know how official it is, but sounds like it is coming.
Edit: from CBC news...
Commissioner Gary Bettman said Tuesday the Board of Governors' executive committee recommended proceeding with Seattle's expansion application, with an eye on voting to approve the league's 32nd franchise in December.
The recommendation came a few hours after key stakeholders presented their case to the committee and hit it off enough that Seattle could be awarded the league's 32nd team two months from now.
"The notion is have the board vote on expansion," Bettman said. "And assuming, as I think everybody is, that it would be approved — I don't want to be presumptuous of the board's prerogative — but everything seems to be on track." - breadbag
Thanks. That would be great for hockey, fans, and Seattle. They don't have any team to root for right now, they are in the down seasons of sports. Vegas brought in a bunch of revenue and Seattle will do the same. The Seattle "what" I wonder? Needles. |

Yeah, right?! I wonder what coaches and gm's will be available by then. Maybe ours, you never know. |

My recollection from LY is that the NHL indicated that future expansion would be done the same as VEGAS. |

As we move through the year, let’s remember that this group delivered 3 Cups. There are other Chicago teams with just as much talent that won only 1 (85 Bears), and another (current Cubs) that is having some difficulty getting back to the top of the mountain.
I’ll always respect the core that got it done 3 times. |

As a diehard life long Hawk fan, I am always the eternal optimist but must admit that this season, I'm a very guarded and cautious optimist. Lot of question marks, starting with Crawford. Will he return to the form he had last year ? I'm really sick of hearing that the core is old .... many of them trained hard this offseason, NOT to repeat last year. And trust me, Toews,Kane,Keith, Seabrook, Crawford are true pros and have pride and know how how to get the job done. They have got the job done before ! The kids need to "take the next step". Hoping that Quenville maybe implements few tweeks in the system to adjust to the roster. Many more question marks ... too many to list. Let's just take this season one game at a time and see how it all unfolds. All the question marks to this team will be answered but not at once. They will be answered during the season, as players get healthy ... players get comfortable with team mates ... players get called up. Let's enjoy .. BUT ONE GAME AT A TIME PLEASE. Chris Kunitz scores the first Hawk goal of the season |

Sox of 05. Bulls. Cubs did win over hundred something years ago before the recent one. I just like acknowledging all the sports. Chicago pride.
I have problems with saying the core did it 3 times. Since 13-15, a completely different team than 10, the idea of core changed. Players considered core changed. People who I thought were in the core were the first ones gone for obvious reasons. The team is also so much more than the core. It's nice having 5 good players, but the other 16 or more are just as important. |

Sounds like Hayden and Davidson will be the healthy scratches tomorrow. Quenneville said he was impressed by Rutta today. He also envisioned Hayden playing at some point. |

Wouldn't it be Luke Johnson over Hayden? Hayden and Martinsen were on the same line with Kruger and Johnson was out, groin related, but out.

If you limit the "Core" to meaning Keith, Seabrook, Toews & Kane....then, YA...the Core has won it THREE times....
The "Core" beyond those 4 has certainly varied....but those main 4 have been there the whole way!!! And been the major parts....(along with goaltending for the 2nd and 3rd Cups) |

I just don't like that logic, you are more than some of your parts. Good parts, but the team collectively wins with their chip ins and contributions from the role players, bottom lines, and top guys. A lot of times the top guys are absent due to the other teams d. |
