Since you are.watching, how about your evaluation after the game ends on the diminutive A Luis? How effective might he become in the NHL. He improved in some areas last season. Realicky he is not going to be a top line e scirer but maybe a third line RW who plays well enough defensively despite his size.

Or is hard working T Sikura more to your taste fior bottom line 3/4 slot? Eventually those two and Highmore will fight to win one spot.

Boqvist looks better/sharper than Jokiharu so far this preseason IMO. More poise under pressure. In that respect he reminds me of #4.

I’m just very excited about our potential to draft #1 overall. The dream just might become reality.

What excites you more? Fighting and scrapping throughout the regular season to eek out a playoff spot with a team that’s nowhere near Cup contention and destined for another first round exit....or potentially drafting #1 overall?

Not even debatable if you ask me.

Jokiharju having another real nice game. Luke Johnson outstanding. Kayun solid, very fast and elusive.

Is it a team fighting and scraping for a playoff spot no where near a cup on the rise or sliding?

If the Hawks were on the rise I'd scrap for the playoff spot or looking at the pipeline, current age of core, and cap structure you need the top overall pick to build around then you choose that.

This decision isn't made in a vacuum. Do we beef up the defense and have a netminder to go deep? Then midseason and deadline trades change the landscape.

Can't just waste the twilight of the cores prime in waiting for guys like boqvist, joker, etc to develop

Might as well get rid of the core now, where you can, immediately
