Enzo, not only will the Leafs win all of their pre-season games they will go 82-0 in the regular season and sweep 16 straight playoff games which will end the NHL season by the end of May. Trust me, its going to happen. - RickJ
That's a lot of pressure on Anderson. I take it they won't see the Bruins in the playoffs. |

What pressure? The writers in Toronto believe this team is so great that the Leafs won't allow any shots on goal unless Anderson asks them to.
But they will manufacture a crisis by November just to sell some newspapers.

I'm slow on the uptake.
I don't see them being "amazing" without Roman Polak imo.
The November crisis has been manufactured years ago ... it's called their defense. |

Lol after beating Ottawa, nonetheless.
I thought Boquist looked better last night than in the Junior Summer Showcase, which is counterintuitive. Both he and Jokiharju have poise with the puck and if paired with a big body defensive minded LD, look to have bright futures.
Gustafson has offensive skill but got lost in the neutral zone and is still a big liability without the puck on his stick.
I liked the look of Hayden-Kruger-Martinsen as a grinding line 4.
Not sure if it was simply bc there were a lot of non-NHL caliber players on the ice, but I don’t remember seeing Anisimov skate that well since he was in NY. |

They should be a good team in a very weak division with only 3 contenders. After that, they need to prove they can win a playoff series and tolerate Mike Babcock's micro managing. |

Not a Gustafson fan, I can see him contributing some on the PP but playing 20 minutes a night - yuck. |

What if he played wing? |

To the person who asked about Murphy. Jaeckel said he could be out longer with back surgery.
Also , Eklund said OEL is being quietly shopped, I know I am new and don't have sources of rumors outside of J-Lowe and Jaeckel, but who is this guy's source, The Onion? |

Q and staff were on the same page as me with Ejdsell and Kahun. It looks like they've swamped.
Gustafsson-Davidson could be a 3rd pairing.
Joki getting a chance to play with Manning. This is a pairing I brought up a month or so ago. It could also be a solid combination. - Justin Lowe
In an earlier post you said you were leaning towards this as a starting D:
Keith - Jokiharju
Gustafsson - Seabrook
Manning - Rutta
Davidson
I'd go with that, too. Then once Murphy is back, reshuffle the deck to:
Keith - Murphy
Gustafsson - Seabrook
Manning - Jokiharju
Davidson/Rutta
Rutta or Davidson may be the odd man out via trade or buried in the AHL (in Davidson's case but ready for recall in case of injuries).
Hillman needs to play big minutes and learn more in Rockford but could be a mid-season call-up.
Dahlstrom would also be available as one of the first call-ups, likely being ahead of Hillman on the list.
Once Forsling returns from injury, he'll likely start on the Hogs then eventually earn a recall. My guess is he'll be recalled and become a more permanent fixture on the Hawks or showcased for a trade. I personally would replace Gustafsson with Forsling as the latter is relatively better at playing defense. Forsling at least gives a sh!t and tries.

Somebody tell Maple Loafs fans and writers. I saw a Sportsnet Headline last night something along the lines "Maple Leafs thinking Stanley Cup after Preseason Opener" - EnzoD
It seems I always have one team I cheer against. Think I just found a new one this year. |

Don't bet on Murphy doing much of anything this year.

Thanks, to both things. I always wondered how to do that. I'm not tech savvy by any means.

Tanner does not have a clue. The Coyotes will be buried so deep in that Pacific Division, they won't know which way is up.
And will Tanner make up his mind about which team he blogs for? -he waffles between Arizona and Washington but is actually a closet Oilers fan. The only thing he is sure about is that he hates the Hawks. |
