Chill at the beach on your days off without people annoying you and you get to play on a pretty decent team as well. - Nucker101
True but not that many days off in an 82 game season bro. Still a good point 👍 |

Brock probably can put on weight easily is my guess & after his injuries its apparent. His stamina will be what to watch out for.

I find a need to say this...
Harping on contracts & female doging about players in the offseason is getting very stale. Is it too much to ask to let them train & play hockey before we have 7 more months of the same ol same ol? - Nighthawk
Yes it is.
I plan on b*tching a lot quite frequently. |

$$$’s don’t matter for us at this point in time. It’s what he can bring to the team & how that helps us going forward. If his contract is a problem for us down the road then its a good thing being others have earned big contracts meaning we have greatly improved. Just my 2 bits - Nighthawk
I think it is short sighted not to consider the future. It could be as soon as next year that one or more of these contracts are a problem/distraction. I’m not saying they will be for sure, but not to consider it would be a mistake. |

Loui Erickson at 6 million-4-years remaining
Jay Beagle 3 million -4 years.
Both the same age, both kill penalties, one is a much needed centre, one is a winger blocking youth entering the system. |

Truly are so many variables and reasons, but still. Mcdavid ffs lol - Codes1087
mcdavid and a state of the art facility tick a couple boxes players look at in new places. its pretty telling that edmonton isnt on anyones radar when you think about how crosby helped get so many to come to pittsburgh |

What is shortsighted in your opinion?
I see no problems if anything is needed to be done. Worrying about year 3 & 4 is premature & not any problem i’d worry about. Cap is fine. |

Nobody is blocked until they earn it. At this time that is not the case. When it is JB has said he will make room. |

I was kidding about blocking spots.
Far too many think every kid that has shown an ounce of upside, should be on Canucks now.
This team has several tweeners, like Granlund, Gaunce, Leipsic, Goldobin etc; that need to earn a job, or they are the ones that will be replaced by some of the kids.
Realistically, I expect that 2 might make opening night roster, Petterson and maybe Demko. |

how long until you think the canucks will be hunting for a playoff spot? i assume within 4. and by the time year 4 is being played boeser and pettersson will be on large contracts, and very likely demko, juolevi and quinn hughes (assuming he burns an elc year this year) will be too. thats whats shortsighted |

WPG had the same issue a few years back but no longer. EDM won't have an issue attracting players after this year. |

It is short sighted not to consider the future when you create a strategy.
It would be like going to MacDonalds and ordering five Big Mac’s with no thought of how that might make you feel in an hour. Right now, it seems like a good idea... |

2019-20 at the ealiest but more likely the 2020-21 season. Have you done your capology to back up your concerns? Its premature to assume cap management is an issue in those years without a basis & presuming JB hasn’t planned or considered the future. The cap is in great shape. |

i agree but its taking longer than i expected. if they can be better than wildcard team then i think they will be able to attract players next year, if they are fringe i think itll take a bit more |

We have no $8-10m contracts now & only Brock will likely get 8m if he continues as expected. If anyone else gets more there is ample cap room for it & that would mean an EP has hit super stardom & we will be more than happy. There is plenty of future cap. |
