I would really hope that the Jets play Roslovic on the second line with Laine and Ehlers and have Little center the 3rd line between 2 of Petan, Vesalainen, Appleton, Dano and Lowry centering Perreault and one of Copp, Lemieux and one of the players listed that didn't make the 3rd line.. I really don't see Maurice changing the line-up that much. I still think its time to play the draft and develop kids when they are ready and not keep players that are more skilled, bigger, faster and cheaper than the players they could be replacing. If Roslovic starts the season as a winger on the 4th line and Little between Laine and Ehlers it will be such a wasted opportunity to improve.

I think the Jets have enough depth to almost be able to play musical chairs with their forwards and to a lesser degree defense, so their whole season will revolve around Hellebuyck as there is NOT much behind him

Its Paul Edmonds there Pete. I was kinda hoping we might still take a shot on a PTO with a guy like Hartnell but I would be fine seeing Vesalainen or Petan on that 3rd line. Lowry Copp Tanev should not be tinkered with in my opinion. They were awesome as the 4th line/shutdown unit

The Morrisey issue is a bit concerning. Hopefully this stalemate can conclude in the short term. Having another holdout situation for the D like Trouba was a few years ago, (yes, I know the circumstances were different) is not going to be beneficial to the team with a #1 pairing D sitting disgruntled at home for an undetermined amount of time. The team needs to get off to a good start and accumulate points right off the start of the season. Put the points in the bank because we know there are milestones of points early on in the season that say a team will most likely make playoffs or not. Got to put the points in the bank and need all players, including your most important D on the ice, not at home on the couch.

Morrisey deal will be signed very shortly. No worries there. Seguin deal took an extra two weeks but now done. He had told me six years were fine but finally settled on the full eight years at a bit less money. Great guy. Happy for him, but in my mind there is some risk for Dallas on a contract like that.

Absolute brutal third jersey! As a huge fan I will not ever buy this crap. Very disappointing!

I’m hoping that jersey leak is a red herring, and the real jersey comes out tomorrow

San Jose is now our biggest threat.

Karlsson, Burns, Braun is easily the best right side in the NHL.

Vlasic-Karlsson is probably the best pairing in the NHL.

And Evander Kane is going to score 40 this year.

Even with karrleson I’d still rank San Jose 3-5 in the conference.
As for the jersey, I didn’t like it at first glance but I think it has the possibility of looking much better once I see full equipment and the entire team. I’m picturing matching socks with black pants and a black helmet. Could look good!!!

The Sens are now short on D, why not offer Kulikov ( even if we eat 1 million ) and Lemieux for a 4th rounder?

His salary is not an issue this year but it would be a benefit to lose it before next plus we easily have the depth to cover his loss.

Kulikov is massively overpaid, and Lemieux is a dead end prospect

I think you could possibly get more for him next year when there is only 1 year left on his contract. There's also a chance he ends up hurting his back again and is on LTIR next Year. At this point, I'd rather have depth than a 4th round pick.

Yes, your scouting report on Lemieux has been well noted...several times.

Very true....if you trade Kulikov and if Morrissey was to get hurt, what do you have on Left defence ?

If you keep Kulikov, and Morrissey gets hurt, the situation is exactly the same.
He’s a decent 5/6. That’s it.

Exactly Benny. We need Kulikov. It's not like left-handed defencemen are falling out of the sky at reasonable prices for the Jets to sign. When healthy, Kulikov does the job for now and may even end up as the second pairing if they don't move Myers to the left side. I'm not a huge Kulikov fan by any means but he helps fill a needed role for now. Not worth giving away for nothing.

Lemieux is far from being a write-off just yet. He has his father's heart and spirit and we all now know the value of those intangibles. I see no reason to trade him.

Yes...Jets must trade Lemieux and Tanev and Lipon and Spacek and any other threat to Petan and Dano making the lineup.
