Speaking of (questionable) impact players..... Weber traded yet? - Mashadar
Next summer... Has to come back strong and stay healthy, then the offers might get real interesting |

There is no rush to trade him. Rushing to trade away players has been a problem with this team for a while... |

Nope, no rush at all, could be the summer after... No point in doing it when he's been off almost an entire year... I'm confident that he'll be able to play at a pretty high level when he returns |

I just hope they manage the situation better than with Pacioretty (even if yeah, Suzuki could be a good player). Weber might ask for a trade at some point, but like you said, he needs to build up his value a little (stay healthy) before that happens. |

3 games played then ship the (frank)er out before he breaks down again. |

For sure, it would be a disaster if it ever went sideways the way the Pacioretty debacle did, although I liked Max, Weber is a guy who is far more respected throughout the league and something like that would be another black eye this franchise doesn't need... Petry could very well end up going before Weber, regardless of how much emphasis is put on the -30 rating, I think Petry would fetch some interest from teams, especially as years keep getting shaved of his salary |

Depends on the return at that exact time but for sure he shouldn't be looked at in the long term plans... |

Teams will want to see him in action if only to see if he can stay healthy once and for all. Unless Toronto or the Oilers come up with an offer mtl can't refuse. |

I think so too but things happen and GM's panic... If I'm Bergevin, I don't move him for anything less than a real good D prospect, a F that can be flipped for more assets later and a 1st, I'd be willing to add Byron for the right package also, if the trade were to happen this season of course |

Fellas?
MB traded PK Subban for Weber, there’s no way in hell, he trades him.
The next GM, maybe.
So I repeat, there’s no way in hell MB trades Weber.
You can all relax now.. |

I think that will be a distant memory and pretty much irrelevant once the likes of Byron, Petry, Shaw, Tatar, Alzner, Schlemko and Benn have all moved on, via trade or even buy outs if needed in the next 2 years, the youth movement will be on full display. Whether it's Bergevin or not pulling the trigger remains to be seen but it would be ridiculous to sit on that asset for longer than 2 more years |

Peca and Ouellet looked good today. Kotkaniemi is way too skinny for this league. Still 2 years away imo. Suzuki is a good prospect.
Jordie Benn was a total train wreck... The guy doesn't deserve his spot on the team... |

Losing out on Karlsson could have Dallas interested sometime this season also, I'd say even more so than Toronto or Edmonton |

Not too worried about Benn, best case scenario is he gets waived and someone grabs him, worst case he doesn't get claimed and spends the year in Laval and goes away next summer |

Agreed Peter. They are clearing tearing it down, but do not have the tools to start from the ground up |
