Have to finish top 3 in the pacific can’t see them getting any of the wildcard spots. Central looks too good.

Would anyone be interested in a Sam Bennett for Nick Ritchie Swap?

It’s been pretty well documented the flames were high on Ritchie at the draft and there has been speculation that the ducks were interested in Bennett.

There point production is very similar so this would be a case of giving both players a second chance to redeem themselves.

I still believe that Sam Bennett has the higher ceiling but there is no doubt that after losing Ferland we could use a guy like Ritichie. This would also enable us more flexibility to sign Chucky as we could easily sign Ritichie for similar price of Bennett but for 3 more years.

Very unlikely but just looking for some hockey talk until the season gets rolling.

NO.

Not trading with Anaheim. If I trade Bennett its somewhere like Florida so if he does improve no fan will be here posting about it.

Let’s see how Sammy does with a different coach before we send him packing. He had his best showing under Hartley, coaches can make or break a player.

NEVER trade a player entering their 4th NHL season. A plethora of data supports the notion that the 4th season, and then the 5th season are the biggest jump in production for players in the league. It's like they just GET IT, and everything starts to click for them.

Of course it isn't every player, and it doesn't always happen, but players with any kind of pedigree and a high ceiling shouldn't be cast off before seeing their 4th and maybe even 5th season. If you've already spent the time to patiently develop them, wait one more season at least.

With you being a living legend in Munich, we will celebrate the season-start with some Oktoberfest-beers on me... , this is the best Flames roster since '04 and must be a major step forward, and hopefully they're aware this time that the season has 82 games, and not 60.

I'm in and I'm ready for beer and hockey. One of my goals this year is to drink two dome beers at the same time. no funnel.

I think I will fit right in with my season ticket seats in the nose bleeds

The Flames didn't have a good roster at all in '04. It was two superstars and a bunch of schlubs. They've had a better roster in pretty much every season since then. Everything just broke their way in '04.

The number one reason to be excited about the Flames is they make the finals every 15 years, and it's year 15.
