I can't see the Jets trading a hard to get young, tough, skilled right shot d-man in Trouba for Nylander, even with the chance of a Philly trade. The Leafs would have to add more as their need for a player like Trouba is greater than the Jets need for a player like Sanheim. The Jets next 3 top D-man prospects Niku, Stanley and Sambergare all l-shot players so trading Trouba at this time would be foolish.

Until it’s done then it will be a a legit top pair Defender for a one dimensional support winger.

He was difficult to sign on his last extension. He has made it clear he doesn't want to play in Canada, until Winnipeg started being a contender and now he magically changed his mind about Winnipeg at least. His points production isn't great. He may be physical, but that is pretty anecdotal and he is injury prone having only played 1 full season in his career. He is two years older than Nylander, and is going to command big bucks on his next contract or be a major contract headache at the very least.

Basically, he is pretty much the most over-rated of the, so-called, "available" Dmen.

As far as this blog... how about the Flyers trade Sanheim+ for Trouba, we leave the Leafs out of it, and call it a day.

Kid Kyle has already said he isn't breaking up the 3 kids, I know GMs aren't always truthful with the press but I am inclined to believe him here.

I can see the Leafs parting with Brown and/or Kapanen, picks or prospects, but not any of their top 6 forwards.

Provy and Ghost are already phenomenal, Sanheim is gonna be good, and Morin and Myers have potential but adding another top flight right handed D would go a long way because it would take minutes away from Gudas and Hagg

Our top 6 forward corps is already set with the signing of JVR so for Nylander to fit in we would have to ship someone out

Look up the last few players to get more than 60 pts in each of their first 2 seasons at the age he is. It is a very strong list. Add to that he has the capability to play centre.
He is NOT being traded.
