Putting Patrick Hornqvist over Jonathan Quick is very tanner-ish

Kopitar will go down as one of this generation's underappreciated players. He is so fun to watch and such a talent.

Cannot disagree with this list, maybe only Letang is too high. If he had never had those health problems, I think #3 would be correct for him. I'd say Horny is too high also IMO.

Oh how Ducks history would’ve been different with Sid instead of Bobby Ryan .... for sure 2 or 3 more than just the 07 cup ...

Obviously Letang was overlooked but having him at #3, and Horqvist at #10, is just silly.

I have to say that I think J. Quick is better/more accomplished than C.Price and T. Rask over their careers - not to say who I would want on my team right now, but... 2 Stanley cups, mostly on his back... 2012 conn smythe! Price and Rask haven't done that...

Big shocker Letang is 3 and Hornqvist a power forward who had exactly 30 goals once and never cracked 55 Pts is in the top 10 while keeping quick off the list. I wonder what team this blogger writes for?

A little bias....yes?

Letang at # 3? No way. LOL not even close. Rask/Price/even Vlasic over Mr. Glass Letang.

I'd really love to see RW do the 2004 draft. Whoever he takes at #1 would be popcorn time.

You have 11 players listed in a top 10 list and still can't find a spot for Quick.

You don't draft anyone over Price except Kopitar and Sid. Get real.

If Montreal didn't lean on him the way they have, and built their team properly, they'd likely have a cup already, and likely would have already gotten to the finals despite that if Kreider wasn't such a piece of garbage.

RIP Luc Bourdon. Wonder how good he would have been.

that's a good list....I might re-arrange a bit but those are probably the 10 I'd have in there. I think you could maybe put Yandle in the mix too, guy has 466 career points (6th highest pt total from that draft year, and most by and dman)

side note......from top to bottom, that has got to be one of the worst 1st rd's in recent memory. the top players were really good, but god damn were there a lot of misses. almost 2/3 of that round don't even play in the NHL anymore.

Was hoping for Kopitar for the Nucks at 10 but Bourdon would have filled a huge need over the last 10 years.

@storm88

Luc Bourdon was Kris Letang's best friend. He probably would've been a top 4 everyday player no doubt.

I mean this was 13 years ago....only something like 4% of players ever play more than 1000 games.

The only luck Pitts had was lucky enough for #66 to make deal with NHL to land that pick. You know, for 66 saving that franchise and all...

oh, for sure..........but more than half of that round didn't even make it to 200 games, I think 4 or 5 never played a game in the NHL.

it seemed that there were a disproportionate number of flops for a 1st round.

Yep. Glad Kopitar fell to #11. Didn’t know much about him prior to drafting him but sure has been damn good.

Hoping vilardi will do the same. His back problems could be a problem though.
