LOL, with the amount of guys the Rat pissed off in his younger playing days, it's amazing he made it to 60. He should send a thank you note to Paul Holmgren and Behn Wilson!

I just did a little research on him. Didn’t realize he played 15 years in the NHL! He had a pretty great career. He’s listed at 5’ 11”. I thought he was smaller. |

He put up some pretty impressive playoff stats to go along with a pretty good career. |

Bill any thoughts or opinions on Twarynski?
Any idea what the flyers think his future maybe? |

If he makes it, a 4th liner with good size and a good skater. |

He was a good player. Quick, agile skater with good straight ahead speed, he also had well above average skills, especially playmaking. Had no fear of going into the dirty areas of the ice and was a viscious little bugger with his stick. Like I said earlier, Linseman was very lucky to usually have Holmgren on his line in Philly. Homer saved his life quite a few times. |

LOL, my first was Bernie Parent; followed by Paul Holmgren, Tim Kerr and a Stadium series Ivan Provorov.

Was about to post this. Yes. First they somehow miss the first goal, and then steal the game with a goal after the clock ran out. My midget rink had a horn hooked up to the clock. What kind of rink doesn't? |

The Rat sounds like a player that we would all hate had he played elsewhere. I like those types on my team. - SuperSchennBros
Low hits, eye gouging, biting. He earned his nickname. He also put up points. Seems like the perfect Flyer. Why’d they trade him away? |

They traded Linseman away to Hartford in the Mark Howe deal in 1982.
Hartford flipped Linseman to Edmonton for Risto Siltanen and somebody else.
Those early 80's teams were top heavy at forward and, specifically, at center.
At that time, the Flyers had Clarke, Daryl Sittler, Bridgman, Linseman, and Ron Flockhart on the roster at center. After the '81-'82 season, they dealt off both Linseman and Mel Bridgman for Mark Howe and Brad Marsh. Those were very good hockey trades for all involved (except Hartford, maybe).
As good as Linseman and Bridgman were, it's difficult to imagine those mid to late '80s Flyers teams without Mark Howe and Brad Marsh. |

No Propp or Sinisalo between Kerr and Provy? It's like I don't want to know you anymore. |

Definitely not a good trade for Hartford, but that's not shocking.
