Ellis or Simmonds would be pretty cool.
Staying the course and not making any trades would also be cool. |

i just checked.
The puck still hasn't crossed the line in the Calder Cup game 7
I'll check again in a few days. - WalshyLeafsFan
I legit laughed out loud at this one |

Unless it's a top pairing defenseman, there's no need. Won't win every game 8-7 come playoff time. |

So basically only Skinner would be a realistic option for Toronto, ok agreed. |

Worried that Simmonds would go the way of Perry and Lucic. |

(frank) that
They will never have this much cap space with this core ever again.
They will use it 100%. |

As a rental he would be good.
Who knows, a year in Toronto might sway Skinner or Simmonds to take a little less...but the intention would be just a one year rental.
I would take both gladly |

No way Toronto would pay the rental price for Simmonds, I don't even see it as an option for them. |

Sure they would. They want to win and have the cap space to do so.
This is not rocket science |

I find the sentiment that sports is not rocket science insulting.

Flyers trading a loved player to a team they will be battling for the playoffs, the cost would be too much for them to make it. Simmonds will not be traded for a low end prospect and a 7th or junk depth, it would cost Toronto some kind of future asset. |

Yes, I assume they will add something. I don't believe they will gut the cupboard though. They aren't trading the Liljegrens, Sandins or Grundstroms. And the Gauthiers won't return much. Bracco would probably be an intriguing chip. |

Grundstrom is a good prospect but he is easily replaceable
If Grundstrom is a deal breaker the Leafs run away laughing |

You need prospects like Grundstrom for when you have to trade away players like Connor Brown. |

I think it depends on that price. I am not sure what the market is for Simmonds. He certainly has some value. |

Ellis would be the player I'd want the most on that list. I don't see it happening but I'd be stoked if it did. I don't know who/what they would want in return though. |

You do not need them. There is no guarantee Grundstrom will be anything, there is no guarantee they need to trade Brown and there is no guarantee they don't have another prospect that can fill the same hole.
You do not blow a chance to get a good player over a prospect that might be a 3rd line player |

How old is Grundstrom, are we trading away a Simmonds-lite or does he ever get near the level of Simmonds.
I think Grundstrom has a real chance at a 4th line position on the Leafs this year.

That's what I mean, obviously Matthews, Tavares, Marner, Nylander, Rielly, Gardiner will not be included. If the worth while prospects are not available then probably not worth it for the Flyers.
Gauthiers is a hell no and Bracco....yeah rather watch Simmonds walk after the year then take him. |

Haven't really seen grundstrom play but my understanding is he's more of a poophead than a power forward. |
