So far, so good with JvR's return. I like his responses. I loved how he touched on the Philly mentality "Do whatever it takes to win". Obviously didn't have too much of that in Toronto. |

And remember, G was also training for the World Cup there, which we knew at the time was going to hurt him. But what do you tell a player? You can’t play in the World Cup? Rather that focusing on early October or the first game of the year, he was focusing on being in game shape for the World Cup.
This annoyed me. |

Not a deal breaker for me at all. It’s worth exploring. In saying that I’m not sure what I’m comfortable giving up but an extension would have to be hammered out on the day of the trade. No rental |

I am confident in saying, if a trade happened to get Panarin most Flyer fans would love it.

Does anyone else think he's speaking to Weal right now, trying to get his confidence up? |

I'm on the fence with this one. I see a lot of "Flyer" in TK. He has yet to hit his stride in terms of scoring but a full season with G and Coots will help (or chemistry with Patty). Bread Man has 2 years of 30 goals (27 last year). Bread Man is a LW so G would move back to center. No way we drop JVR to 3rd line wing. Assume it's TK, a dman, and a pick, our forward lines could be;
Panarin, G, Jake
JvR, Patrick, Simmer
Lindblom, Coots, Weal/Lehtera
Raffl, Laughton, NAK/Leier/Weise/Propp(jk)
I'm on the fence with this. It's gambling TK's continued development into a 30 goal scorer (not guaranteed) for a 3rd year player on his 3rd team. Albeit a proven 30 goal guy. |

I just don't think it's the smart move to move a 21 yr old or a 27 yr old when our 'championship window' starts in 2 seasons at earliest.
I would rather have 5 years of TK aged 23 for that timeframe as opposed to 5 years of 29 yr old Panarin.
I would not be upset with the deal, just I don't think it's the right move. |

The answer to the question is yes. You do tell a player he can't play in the WC. |
