Well he did save along with JG the Ducks season for the most part... He’s better than Stasny or Turris so for 5 yrs @ 5.8 it’s fine... he scores 20+ goals every yr. kills penalties & plays on the PP, add to that if Ducks waited his price was simply going to go up.

There is no way he's better than Stansty or Turris. He isn't even better than Bozak.

Lifelong Devil fan here...Hes a great guy, great community leader and such, but...

Way overpriced. Not better than Stas.

Add Ducks to potential cap trouble in coming yrs.

He's very streaky. has the raw talent to net 40g and 40a, but for some odd reason settles for 40 pts a yr.

Only in the hockeybuzz Bizzaro world does a guy who scores more goals & whose 4 yrs younger than Stasny is said to be worse than Stasny ...

And whose the same age as Turris and also scores more goals & for less money than both ...

While playing on a team that is worse than both Nash & the Peg and carrying younger wings ..

You guys are awesome ... esp you James ... Bozak .. Let that Leafs love shine through ...

James, with respect, totally disagree with you here. He's a 200 foot player who scores at a second line rate. That, in and of itself is better than Bozak who is half a player. Deal is fine, expecially considering by the end of year 2 of the deal, the Ducks will be in full rebuild mode. They'll need to hit the cap floor, and this contract won't hurt them at all by then.

No they won't. Unless Gibson isn't around. With the D still relatively young and Gibson in G, they're not gonna be in FULL rebuild any time soon.

Todd Cordell is the Devil's blogger... pretty sure he saw plenty of Adam Henrique over the years.

Tanner on the other hand, probably never watched a hockey game in his life.

THIS times a f*cking 1000! There is a damn good chance Rico is going to be the Ducks #2 center. Kesler and Barstool Bob are both talking a good game but Kesler's hip has become a quality of life issue, not just a hockey issue. One doctor has already advised him to retire. He's been taking those injections that are supposed to regenerate bone growth or whatever the hell they're supposed to do. If that doesn't work, that might be it for him.
Back to Henrique's numbers, you HAVE to pay athlete's more than you'd probably like to to play in TAX ifornia. Take a look at that Cap Friendly list about what you have to pay someone depending on where they play so the money evens out. Check out the bottom of the list.

Comedy seeing people saying Stasny better, guy scored 16 goals on 2 offensive teams. and will be 33 a month into the season. never had a 30 goal season ... people on here are something else. 6.5 for the next 3 yrs
Now that's a CRAPPY Contract.

As for Turris whatever his contract is another complete dog. Dude averages about 15 goals a yr. Yeah but he's better.

Some real toilets spouting off about how great Turris and Stasny are.

They need rebuild upfront though. Perry and Getzlaf arent going to be able to carry the offense forever. Perry has already started to decline.

No argument there. I just took exception to the "full" rebuild comment.

Agree 100%. Not saying this contract is a gross overpayment, but he was our 3C, and we didn't have much depth at C in the Devs organization. He is NOT better than Statsny, so lets put that to rest. His 2-way game isn't great, nor is his cycle/grind game up to snuff. Miss the guy, especially during Movember, but I think people are over estimating this guys top 6 abilities.

He is NOT better than Statsny,
And what are you basing this on ?? I'm dying to know. Certainly not goals, or durability or age, or being clutch.
Stasny is one of those classic looks, should be good kinda guys, but when you see what you actually get on the ice... it's blah .... St Louis def didn't get their money, neither did the Peg and Vegas won't either.

"Taxifornia" that's awesome. Lol. Anyways the taxes are so high its killing the poor and middle class. The only people who can afford it is the rich.
Anyways henriques numbers improved a lot since he has come to the ducks. Seems like does better with skilled wingers who pass the puck than wingers who shoot. Kase and Ritchie deferred to him a lot. I'm not sure what his role was in new Jersey but seems they may have been under using him a bit.

Think I struck a chord with you there. Statsny did just put up 15 points in 17 playoff games, and was arguably one of the best players on that stacked squad. Not to mention he is a pk specialist, dominates takeaways vs turnovers (henrique is horrible for that), and is one of the best faceoff guys in the league. It is hard because we are comparing two completely opposite styles of Centremen with different roles. This 5 year contract starts when henrique is 29, till hes 34, and if you are thrilled with your #3C getting paid 5.85M during that span, then that's great.

No it was a honest question and you bring very valid arguments up... thanks for that. I think some of those stats you mention need to be taken with a grain of salt as the Peg was a much better team than the Ducks through the yr. in most of those areas overall.
Not withstanding him playing 82 games last yr. He avg 63 games a yr for the past 5 and 15 goals a yr during that time.
PS is getting 6.5 a yr till 36 that to me is not better than getting Rico for 5.8 for 5 till 34 ...
