I don’t care what the rest of the sheep say. I’m not a follower. Nothing about next season is writen stone and I’ve given many examples as to how it’s possible why G could go back to center. You simply say “rest of the group says it won’t happen, so it won’t”. How well thought out of you. - SuperSchennBros
That's why I bring my triangle. Someone could ask me to play. |

No. Because nobody else is even considering it. - hereticpride
Ron Hextall is. One of his comments made when he signed James Van Reimsdyk was he doesn’t know where G is going to play. So clearly Hextall as a GM and fan has thought about it.

Can we please stop with the G back to center crap. You all realize G and Coots were money last year. Why do you want to (frank) with a good thing? - dragonoffrost
For the same reason, with two games to go in the season, Konecny was moved off the first line. We can all stand, point, yell and scratch desperately at our eyes in disbelief but there will be some justification tossed out and back to center he'll go.
We might as well toss it around for discussion in July.

The GM doesn't decide where the players play. If he says where he's playing he's stepping on his coach's feet. |

It's been tossed out. Discussed. And then brought up over and over again by the same person.
And moving TK at the end of the season issue wayyyyyy different then moving G in the offseason coming off a 100+ season. |

You guys can’t even remember that Jeff Carter played wing once Danny Briere caught fire at center. That Danny Briere, Scott Hartnell and Ville Leino line remained hot the following season. Danny Briere remained a sinner long after Richards and Carter were traded.
I am just saying anything can happen. I don’t care where he plays, I’m just stating what I would do. |

I think the top two lines look much better with him on the wing. Plus the whole 102 points last year. I just can't imagine he goes back to center for a long stretch, if at all. |

No kidding, But the GM still wouldn’t comment on where he would play, even if nobody is considering it. |

Cool. Move a 100+ point LW back to the position he was trending downwards at for a number of years. If it makes sense to you great. You aren't going to convince many people otherwise so idk why you keep bring it back up over and over. |

What sins did he commit? I'll say a prayer for his sinful ways. Jesus forgives |

It’s his first time ever scoring 100 points. Do you expect him to score another hundred points next season? I don’t. |

Honestly, with this coach, is it?
I wouldn't put anything past him. In my mind's eye I can see G lining up to take the faceoff on opening night. No one could convince me that isn't a possibility given the history. |

He hasn't eclisped 80 points since 13-14 and had trended downwards into the 60 point range before moving to LW. He doesn't even need to sniff 100 points for keeping him on the wing to make sense. |

I'm thinking I don't read this thread enough anymore to figure out the hostile reaction so I'll slowly back out of the room.

I mean he still took a bunch of faceoffs last year as a winger.
Look, if G comes out this season and looks like complete ass on the wing and they want to move him, fine. But it's July and he's coming off 102 points. Give the guy the credit/a chance to pick up where he left off first. |

I'm not advocating it. I'd stick with G-Coots-TK as my first line until it slumps heavily.
I just think the coach is difficult to predict and there's be A LOT of discussion about lack of depth at center coming out of Vorhees.
I hear what you say about downward trends and of course you're right but I tend to agree with Bill, that some of his improved production this season is due to being healthy. The rest is Couturier's advancement at center. I just hope he can keep it up with the increased attention. He did struggle for goals in the second half a bit. |
