Murray was a great scout and a terrible GM.

Oh? I distinctly remember you saying he was amazing. A riverboat gambler. GMTM always gets his man.

What happened? Oh, right. Reality set in.

Actually, Eichel isn't a winner. He hasn't won anything. The loss of O'Reily is going to sting this season. That man is a winner. He plays a very good 200 ft game and plays hard. He speaks openly and honestly.

Plus, i love Botts, but the Sabres just don't have nearly enough talent yet. Teams like Tampa, Toronto, Pittsburgh, Washington and Boston are all just way too good.

Lol. How can the #2 pick of the draft be a “generational player”? Did the oilers make a mistake? Can there be two generational players born in the same year? Is Dahlin a “generational player” too? Does this mean McDavid and or Matthews are jabronis?

Can someone please answer this? What happened to Garth insisting that O'reilly would be a Sabres and help turn this team around? He said this over, and over again.

Now, he's eager to turn the page?

Another thing. Connor Sheary a 25+ goal scorer? He has NEVER scored 25 goals. Not since his days in Cushing Academy High School 2009, where he scored 30 ONCE.

I guess facts, dignity, and self respect aren't important to Garth. I know he's not the brightest bulb, but don't you want to at least get your FACTS straight? Wow.

But really, can someone try to answer how Garth could insist on O'reilly being part of the future and turnaround, and now eager to move on?

I seriously have to stop reading this load of crap. It's starting to give me high cholesterol.

So, no player besides the 1st pick in the draft can be a generational player? And, according to you, there's never been more than 1 generational player in any single draft?

Even though generational player isn't clearly defined, I'm pretty sure there has been more than 1 in a draft, and I'm pretty sure there has been a generational player that wasn't selected 1st overall. Just maybe...

You wanted an example of how Eichel is a team killer? really? you don t remember that recent ping pong ball parade you just had? The only thing buffalo does the best is talk talk talk. and if he isn't. let him prove it. Some of you guys treated his draft like there was even a choice to be made between mc david and eichel. if eichel is a generational player. i d hate to think of what that makes mc david. and Just because ya pay eichel 10 million doesn't make him a 10 million dollar player. he s decent talented player that needs to shut up and let the GM be the GM and the coach the coach. don t tell me there was n t problems in buffalo's room and eichel wasn t involved directly. Like i said earlier. you will learn this. and when you do like always in buffalo GOD help him.

Lemieux and Gretzky nothin the league at the same time.... Sid and Ovie too. The problem is that Jack's a few steps under that. An all star? Yes. A superstar? Not quite.

Rephrase....although he has gone to the playoffs twice, it's his attitude and two way game I'm talking about. The guy is the type of player that every championship caliper team could use.

I guess everyone has their own definition of "generational". For most people, it is the top 2 - 5 best players over a long span of time. Most teams never get one of these players but the Penguins were lucky over the years to get four of them (Lemieux, Jagr, Crosby, and Malkin). Others consider only the very best player at any given time to be "generational" - for example either Gretsky or Lemieux in the 80's/90's and Crosby today. Then we have Garth, who considers every top Sabres prospect to be "generational" .

Eichel is good and I am sure that Dahlin will be too. Nevertheless, I wouldn't call Eichel "generational". I guess we will see about Dahlin. One thing is for certain, though, the Sabres will be the team of "Rasmuses".
