I wouldn't be so sure. For every good move the Panthers make, they make one bad one. Although I don't think this would be a bad deal.

If Pacioretty can score 30 with little Davy Deharnais as his centre,..... just imagine the damage he could do with a bonafide centre.

Yes, he had a down year last year, but so had the whole depleted team. He's 29 and got a whole lotta goals left in him, especially if he's going to ride shotgun to a real nr 1 centre. There should be GM's drooling at the opportunity to sign him long term.

Gallagher will be named captain as soon as Pacioretty is shipped out... I thought Juulsen did well in the short time he was there, as did Mete, both will get plenty of time to show what they have over the next year... You can throw Reilly's name in there too
