Not sure if its an age thing, but on Boston, Lucic was excellent. He was the whole package. Not sure what happened but if Oils eat 2 mil I'd do it in a heartbeat. But i get your point.

Forget that Lucic's contract is terrible. Maroon literally took Lucic's job because Lucic was so bad. And Lucic didn't even turn 30 until a few weeks ago! Power forwards just age so quickly. That's why I don't want to sign Maroon either, despite him being a valuable player as a deadline acquisition. It's just too risky and because these guys are slow and bad defensively, they are absolutely useless once the offense dries up.

You need to protect your Skill players.

Shero should continue to grow our own Defense so we don't have to overpay in a always in demand D market. If Butcher, Smith, Sev can live up to their potential, this team will be so damn good.

I think this is right. If you can get DeHaan reasinabky fine, but don't overpay and waste cap space. Would rather live with Green, Butcher and Mueller on the left and spend elsewhere. Niedereitter would be a good get for 1 yr bloated contract it would cost. Get JVR also.

No they don't all have one. Most teams don't have a guy like that anymore.

And the advantage of Maroon is his ability to provide secondary scoring ability around the net, not his face-punching ability. My issue is he's 30 and guys who play his style don't remain effective much past that age.
