I think the Devils saw him as a potential 1st line center, as Henrique and Zajac were stuck in neutral and they didn't have any top-end prospects in the pipeline to take their place. So while I agree that the pick was not a great one, I can see the reasoning. Still a bad pick, though; one which I will be eternally grateful for.

Edit: As much as I hate you guys, props to Hall. Also, you guys lucked out on Miles Wood. I hate playing against him; he's like a modern-day Randy McKay.

Flyers passed on Wood. Wood has a chip on his shoulder because that.

I concur

K'Andre Miller would be an amazing pick for the devils.

I just did my pre-draft prediction, I have the Devils taking Sandin and believe that's where he lands. If it happens then you're welcome.

Sandin seems like a fantastic choice if available. Speed is the future.

Miller is the better skater and has about 5 inches on him

If we trade down, sure on Miller. Otherwise there are better options at 17.

I need to see more of Berggren. Love Sandin but Miller is growing on me as well. Would be content with either.
- Todd.Cordell

I love the profiles Canucks army puts out but I'm not a scout so I understand why you'd want to see him for yourself.

I just can't get past Denisenko's MHL stats. Especially when he actually had worse pt/gm numbers in his draft year from his D-1 year.

My view is that we wait to see whjo is available at 17. Don't force a Dman there. At 17 it is highly unlikely a first pairing is available or will develop there. In Cosentino' mock we get Velano at 17, which I doubt but would be huge. Lets qait and see.

By the way, is Lou pissing any one else off moving to the Isles? Trotz? Crap Taveras stays there and they get a goalie they are sitting pretty well.

Not at all, Im okay if JT stays put. There are tons of other players that will become available next few yrs that we aren't even aware of that will fit our style more than JT (hes too slow). And by then Zajac/Greene will be gone so the money will flow!!

Also Im sticking with my prediction that by 21 Nico will be top 5 in game at center\.

I personally don't see Shero going K'Andre Miller. He's probably the weakest defensively in the first round. You'd almost take Merkley over that.

I "hope" Farabee drops to us. I ran my own mock draft and saw it as a possibility. There are a lot of guys I probably wouldn't be displeased with (McLeod, Kaut, Lundestrom, one of the Russians, Sandin, Smith, Hayton, etc) unless Shero went off the board.

No, UFA, but if you trade for his rights, you can offer the 8th year.

Todd tweeted about Nino being available from Minn. swap firsts (17 for 24) for Nino and Ennis? NJ would have to sweeten the pot more (Ray’s been able to make steaks at the draft), but that’s the basis of the deal.

I like Nino, but I’m not sure how much more than moving back 7 spots and taking that terrible Ennis contract back we should give for a guy with career highs of 25G/ 57P.
