This is my opinion, don't care what others think. As a GM I would never offer the 7th and Tanev for Risto. That's a bad deal for the Canucks. - LeftCoaster
Tanev and the 7th is a slight overpayment. Tanev alone is a pretty substantial underpayment. |

I really think Smith-Pelley would be a great addition at 3x2mil. I really enjoyed him in the playoffs, plays a good possession game for a gritty guy.
Kempny would be a good one as well. I also think Ian Cole, John Moore and mike Green will be on the radar. I could handle 3x4mil for Green without any NTC. |

Big overpay for a team in our position I would say though. |

This is what I was thinking. That being said, Risto is a pretty rare type of player to be able to get via trade and I'd imagine overpaying is the reality as other teams will be calling. |

Maybe not immediate quality but i would still try to get Honka and give him a chance on a new team. Plus the whole Speeza grab pump and dump thing. - carsonagenic
I think Speeza is a Myth . Why would any team trying to rebuild give up assets when they have 20-25 mil in cap space.
Is Honka on the block? |

If Green is willing to sign in Van I'd be very happy if we got him |

If rumor is correct Buffalo turned down Tanev and Jake for ROR immediately. They were not that impressed with Tanev obviously.
TOronto have reportedly offered a late first round pick and two not so impressive players for Tanev. Might be overvaluing him currently

True. Tanev + 7th would probably be the price we'd have to pay if we really wanted him. |

Yeah I get the sense that many Nucks fans are overvaluing him. Perhaps he is simply worth more to us than anyone else. I'd be okay moving him for a 1st in the 15-20 range plus a prospect or another pick honestly. He's great to have on the team but at some point we need to get value for him |

I don't see a RHD man who scored 8 G 33 Pts who made 6 mil last year taking a haircut to come play on a bottom 6 team.
I think you would need to offer him 6.5x4 to even start the conversation. There are lots of teams looking for RHD |

I think it's more that his injuries are hurting his value + his play style doesn't get noticed by opposing fans.
Everyone was hyped about him in 2016 after he and Rielly looked great together at the WHC's. |

I'm just happy to contribute to the morning hate.
The cutoff is sept 15 not August 21st. Boqvists bday is Aug 15. Stop lying and stick to facts. Thank you - CanuckDon
few
noun, plural in construction
Definition of few
1 : a small number of units or individuals a few of them
2 : a special limited number the discriminating few
1 month.... 4 weeks out of 52 weeks in a year. I would call 4 weeks short being few.
It's really elementary English, Donald.
So I reiterate, boqvist is a few weeks short of being a 2019 draft pick.
He also possesses one of, if not, the, hardest shot out of all draft eligible defensemen.
He's way faster then bouchard as well as possessing an arguably harder shot. |

If I did make that trade I would throw big money at Carlson in an offer. I would also extend Edler for 4 years
Edler Risto
OJ Carlson
THat is not a bad top 4 for 4 years and then you can develop your Dmen and bring them in slowly.
Offering Carlson 8 mil (overpayment ) less Tanevs 4.5 means you picked up Risto and Carlson for 8 mil . Not bad |

Would you do Carlson for say 3 years at 10 mil (huge over pay but at this point we might have to)? |

Supposedly OEL is getting 8 x 8.25 mil, NMC and most likely captaincy |

this started out as a meme here, I don't think anyone is actually thinking it's realistic.
There's risk for the player too, if he declines by the 3rd year for some reason or suffers a major injury the he could end up losing money in the long run. He can get 7-8 years at 7.5M-8M per instead right now and be set. |

I don’t get why anyone would want to trade a first round pick (7th OA) plus another first (Potential Tanev value) plus b/c/d grade prospects (again Tanev trade) for a player that we can essentially get with only the draft pick (7th). Unless you think you are this one piece away from contending, it’s pure madness. |

8 years would need to be from the Caps. Don't see them doing that.
7 years I would pass on 5 would be the most 4 would be ideal.

The only way you get him on a short deal is 1 year and like $15m. |

From what i have read, Honka is not a favorite of the regime (doghouse). There could be a deal made for an unused asset maybe? As for Speeza, i know that was an older rumour, but that is the type of deal i would like the Canucks to do. Add low cost in terms of assets given up. The bigger deals are un the future. They will want to make a splash with the draft here. |
