I personally think Dermott deserves a tad better grade given the circumstances.

Polak gets 12 pts +5 and a hundred bad penalties = b

And yet 50pts +9 gets you a C?

Frig I hate this fan base sometimes.

Gardiner was great all year. He had some highlite reel outlet passes and can skate out of the zone. Everything goes to poop for him because of game 7. I still blame a lot of that on andersen. There was one play where he kept his man to outside and Andersen let in a softie.

I agree. Andersen let in some poop goals in Game 7 and Gardiner did not play his best in Game 7 either but Gardiner was #1 in ice-time. Gardiner is not a #1 D. The problem isn't Gardiner, the problem is how he's being used. Get a real #1 and stop blaming the guys who are forced to play in a position they can't play.

Would anyone make Gardiner a center and then blame him for losing all the face-offs? No...because he's not a (frank)ing center. Being a #1 D and being a #3 or #4 D require different levels of talent. Put the right players in the right positions.

Geez, one game does not make a player, Gardiner was arguably the best most consistent dman the whole year. Rielly had some really rough stretches of very poor decision making that I think people are forgetting. Personally I'd give Gards a higher grade than Rielly if you're talking about the entire year. A victim of confirmation bias IMO.

Agreed. He’s not a #1, but a great #3 imo. Good contract too. Rielly should be the #2 but he makes a lot of mistakes also.

Need a #1 or an equivalent to Rielly and gardiner looks great at his salary.

Righty is a need, yeah really only Carlson there.

De Haan is intriguing to me though, although he's a lefty which is something we don't really need. I think he might be a cheaper more under the radar option than Carlson.
