DarthKane I'd just like to congratulate you a day and a half early on calling that the Hawks will receive the first overall pick.

Every day, same message. Consistent, available, positive. It's what this country needs.

Start your Dahlin highlight clips now, meat's back on the menu boys.

I agree: Duclair - bye bye, Jurco - bye bye Im ok with Schmaltz but AA send out
- glennjpawlak22

I agree that Duclair and Jurco have not shown enough to warrant a decent contract. The best scenario is that someone else pays them $1.3 mil+ and we get a 3rd round pick as compensation. But if the Hawks can sign Duclair for less than that I might want to take a longer look at him. IMHO Jurco needs a change of scenery.

Trade Duclair to Montreal for one of their 2nds. I'd re-sign Jurco with the expectation that he plays in Rockford next season.

On another subject, it is so nice and exciting seeing teams (cough - vegas) move their asses and GO TO THE NET.
Just sayin.

Hope you don't crap your boxers when we don't get anywhere close to the top 3 picks!

Duclair isn't worth a 2nd round pick though IMO.

Trade Schmaltz or Debrincat and Rutta's money for a 2nd round draft pick and a top 4 defender.

To most teams know, but this is Montreal we're talking about so a 2nd isn't out of the question.

They did fork over two second round picks for Shaw, so should be able to get a 2nd and 3rd for Duclair.

One of which landed the Hawks DeBrincat. I wish they would have drafted Raddysh over Krys.

What about Garrett Sparks to back up Crow next year? He appears to be buried in the Toronto organization. Not sure what it would take to acquire him.

It should be interesting what Duclair signs for and where. It is hard to work a trade for an RFA. Montreal could just sign him and send the Hawks a 3rd round pick. The Hawks could sign and trade him, but I doubt it.

If I am Jurco I would look for another club.

If I am a fan I HOPE Jurco looks for another club. Hoping a divisional opponent.

In my opinion with the right moves and draft selection hawks could compete to get in the playoffs next season. As for competing for a cup I think they are way off to many holes and when I watch the playoffs this year hawks are missing that they are missing that etc... For the hawks to get back to contended for a cup a few things need to happen and to be added.
First:
The core needs to have a bounce back a fountain of youth sorta say especially toews but not only him Seabrook Keith Kane Saad a healthy Crawford and Coach Q all need to be better next year for the hawks to move forwards to making the playoffs.

Second: The young players need t keep developing and keep taking the next level to get better each year.

Third: What needs to be added to get the hawks back to where they want to be, this is just my suggestions of what needs to be added by watching the teams that are playing in the playoffs not just this year but every year.

Backup Veteran Goalie (priority #1)

Top six forward lw center or rw doesn't matter most likely a player with skill size speed and edge to their game.

A revamp d core consisting of at least 2 to 3 nhl experience d man young with a potential of a top 4 d man. A shutdown defense man and puck moving defsense that can skate out of trouble push the pace and quarterback a power play. One or two nasty physical defense man who will take the body and clear the front of the net.

A shutdown 3rd line that can contribute to the offense but also negate the top line of the other team.

2 centers that can win faceoffs at 50% or better

A banger line 3 forwards that makes hell in the other teams d zone big fast physical and are nasty you know when there on the ice. Also chip in some offense

A healthy toews and Crawford

A unified team that has pushback and have each others backs and will answer the bell when teams decide to take liberties and play dirty. To me the hawks have not had that since the last cup win seems the locker room has been divided young players against older players. Need to play as one and as a team win as team lose as a team. Play with heart urgency grit and the love of the game.

Now hopefully a lot of these things I have mention come from within.
If others would like to chime in and give opinions and thoughts I welcome that whether you agree or disagree or if I miss something.

I really can't stand the Nashville organization and fans. Everything they do is ridiculous. From the goal song, to the goalie taunting chant, to preventing opposing fans from buying tickets, to throwing the stupid catfish on the ice...classless. It's really too bad, because Nashville is a cool city, they have a helluva team, and since I only live two hours away, I go to 6 or 7 games a year (Sunday will be my 6th this year). I'd go to a lot more if I could stand the organization itself.

Defensive pairings next year:

Dahlin-Seabs
Keith-FA
Oesterle/Gus-Murphy

I like a potential 3rd pair of 82 and 5 because I think they'd compliment each other well. Oesterle is more offensive, Murphy can be the stay at home d man, plus they both can play either side.

Justin thinking about your comparison of Toews and Matthews

I think Matthews has a better shot than Toews and if you placed Matthews on the same line as Kane back in the day holy crap who knows how many goals he would of scored in the playoffs, i know what you're saying but at the same time i think if Matthews and Kane were on the same line today Kane and Matthews wouldbe leading the league in scoring, then put Panarin on that line, DAMN
