over exaggerating again. its not throwing away the entire draft. its two 1s, a 2 a 3 and maybe a 2 or 3 next year.
That still leaves you with
1
2
3
5
6
7
picks this year.

The Bills have tried every which way possible to build a team around crap QBs for the last 18 years.

How many times were you left saying "Man that defense was great, if only they had a QB" the bills finally are in a spot where they can get a top flight QB prospect. IF not this year, when? 2019 is looking to be hot garbage. so 2020,2021,2022? Why delay the inevitable?

Miami takes the best olineman in the draft, Atlanta takes questionable Matt Ryan. Do you think Miami wants a do over?

- ImThatGuy

I heard picks 12, 22, a second, our first 3rd rd pick in this draft

and our first next year to get to pick 1

easy pass

There is talk its going to take both 1sts this year a 2nd this year a 1st next year and a 2nd or 3rd next year

Nope nope and nope

To give a rookie QB a team like David Carr had in Houston? Forget that

- Stripes77

Fine, Im all for it. If it means having a chance to have a starting QB for the next 20 years, sign me up.

Its been 18 years since the bills have had anyone worth a damn at that position, and I'm sure its just a coincidence that they have only made the playoffs one time in that same time span.

Do you think Houston cares it doesn't have the 4th pick this year if Watson picks up where he left off?

They also had to pony up more than Buffalo, because Buffalo was rumored to be close to a trade with Indy. Jets panicked a bit, IMO.
- ImThatGuy

Jets overpaid by 30% more than the chart dictated.

That would lead one to believe the Bills were going to overpay by 15-20%.

They stay at 12, the fans will revolt.

They move up into the top 10, the fans will revolt.

They're damned if they do, damned if they don't.

SO what do you do with those picks then. Try to build a stout defense and hope you hit 100% on all those picks, considering the average is maybe 50%?

Then in 3 years when all those deals are up, you have to decide who to pay and who to let go, and then you are right back in the same position in 3 years you are now, only having just wasted everyone's time?

What did Houston give up?

a first last year and a first this year, big deal basically one stud (Barkley) for one stud (Watson) and a starter at pick 25 last year

The Bills would be giving up several starters and a potential stud next year when they finish 4-12

Yeap, But again I'm all for it if it means having a true QB prospect. If the only position that matters in the NFL.

This QB draft class is overhyped

The consensus is Darnold is the best QB in the draft but year he's not going to go first overall?

That is a huge red flag for me about this draft

- Stripes77

Is it though?

When was the last time potentially 5 guys will go in the 1st?

99 and they all went in the top 12.

I think they will now have a long term and short term vision

IMO given these qbs

I would stand pat, build the roster depth with current picks

if the qb play is bad, this season, and I don't think it would be any worse then tyrod, get a qb in 2019 when all the other teams blew their wad on these bums

You are basing this on a 100% success rate. which is entirely inaccurate.

Packers a great when Rodgers plays, terrible when he doesnt
Saints are only good because of Breese
Patriots are crap without Tom Brady
The Colts of old once Manning got hurt were the worst team in football.
the Steelers without big Ben are awful.

The top teams every year are the teams with great QB's. its really that simple.

It's not. If you really think this class is bad, no QB is ever going to be good enough for you.

Don't look at 2019 or 2020 either. People already saying that its crap after this year.

Even if they don't hit on all of those picks that's still 3-4 starters

Also the Patriots made the playoffs with Matt Cassel

So Dan Marino and Jim Kelly clones are totally not worth it, because you know, they never won a superbowl.

Not me. Fortune favors the bold. Go for it. All 6 picks in the first 3 rounds should be in play imo. Fill out the roster next draft. Too much dead money to make any noise this year anyway

Patriots are crap without Tom Brady

- ImThatGuy

"In all, Belichick has gone 13-6 (.684) in 19 games without Brady at quarterback for the Patriots. To put that in context, no other team?in the league besides Belichick's Patriots has posted a winning percentage higher than .684 since Belichick and Brady joined forces in 2000. Nobody would argue that Belichick doesn't need his Hall of Fame quarterback, but the Patriots have been extremely good even without Brady at the helm."

Ok 1983 then before that.

They were 2-9 in the Super Bowl

Elway 2-3
Kelly 0-4
Marino 0-1
Eason 0-1

0-9 through the 1st 14 years.

To move from 12 to 10 should not cost more than a 3rd

To move from 12 to 7 maybe the first pick in the 3rd round and a later round pick

- Stripes77

Moving from 12 to 7 is a 1st round pick .

that's a total slap to this coaching staff that made the playoffs when most expected them to win 3-5 games after moving watkins

10-5 was with Matt Cassel. When Tom Brady retires, the patriots are no longer relevant. You can think they they are some sort of immortal, but it starts and ends with Brady. The Patriots go as he goes.

If Brady all the sudden retires this year, the Pats don't win more than 5 games.
