I'd be interested in trying to upgrade Fippula's spot at the deadline actually. Maybe someone like Pageau that is a playoff monster and can bring some offense. Fippula would be a hell of a 13th forward. Certainly better than paying $200 to go to a playoff game to see the Islanders drag around Ross Johnston's rotten corpse all night.

Who do you hate more, Johnston or Komarov…….serious question

I agree, rick. While nearly all of us expected this to be a re-building year, Lou wasn't having it. He made just a few tweaks to the roster, and decided to win games this season (rather than Lose for Hughes). Now that they are in playoff contention, I don't see him dumping players for picks/prospects......... which would be the correct strategy if the team were out of the playoff race.

I thought when Lou made those moves he was trying to loose

I doubt they would've given Lee the C if they weren't confident about re-signing him

TuneBoggle is worth literally nothing

Fippula has a full NMC so he can't be traded

Eberle probably nets you a late 1st. He's about the only one I'd consider moving

Nelson will be a tough call, no argument about that. But Trotz likes him so don't expect him to be moved

- eichiefs9

I agree with all of this, I just don't think they mortgage the post season by getting a late first or a second rounder for Eberle. UNLESSSSSS, they have a plan to land someone to replace his pts

Yeah I just don't see them pissing away the playoffs (and the $$$ that will go in Malkin/Ledecky's pockets from the playoff games) to recoup some weak assets.

I used to occasionally think that sucking and getting high picks was sometimes better but I'm starting to believe in the hockey gods who are currently torturing the Oilers for all their years of first overall picks. I just want to be good. If it means losing Jordan Eberle for free in UFA then so be it.

A 1 for Eberle is nice as the Isles can include it in A package for a 2C if Duchene does not happen. Lee I have to think gets signed and Barry likes Nelson. I like Nelson as a 3C with MDC if he is not moved.

Well Johnson is on the roster so he can be put in when Trotz wants to loose the game. Everyone has their job.

it woul be JHS thats is ready for Eberles spot. Eberle isnt being resigned. Trade him.
Nelson definitely showing he belongs.

Also Casey Cizikas is our 3rd line center. Not sure why his line keeps being referenced as 4th line when they play 2nd/3rd line mins. Filipula line is the 4th line.

Im enjoying Toronto losing to teams that matter. And i want JT to feel like he has to do more and more to help them. Sound familiar, Keep trying to do it all yourself JT.

I’ve never even heard of this film.

Maybe it’ll be rereleased in Canada now that legalization is a thing.

3C should be a target. You do not want Ross playing a playoff game like Pandolfo? I think it was him?

i do think Duchene is the talent we need for 2C but he isnt a good team guy. Look at Colorado without him. Seems he is more toxic than the small stuff Isles Mgt hate JHS for.

Move Eberle for decent pick from a playoff desperate for scoring.

Flip said pick and Calgary’s 3rd for another scoring winger with term.

Ideally that’s what I’d like to see happen.

To be fair we don't know why or what went on in Colorado. What we do know is that he was a third overall pick, who was in play and spoken about as a first overall. He's absolutely got the talent, and the isles have the money to spend. Ironic that the first overall money could end up fetching that third overall...

I would have a tough time turning down a 1 for Eberle and especially since he is no playoff warrior.
