looking at guys who have not signed as of yet an extension my insane wish list would be...

1. Offer sheet Mathews.. Either we get a monster or we crush the Leafs cap situation..win/win.
2. Joe Pavelski- I assume he is going no where but he would be a HUGE pick up for this team.
3. Stone- not a center but don't care
4. Duchene
5. I guess u could go the old guy route with a spezza, Eric Staal, etc.

I kinda feel like Lou will do something we would never expect. We will ship 4 prospects for Barkov or something and I will cry with joy.

They’re winning.....it’s also pretty clear that Trotz and i guess Lou as well like Brock Nelson. There’s a lot of talk about a 2c, but right now they’re winning and i wouldn’t do anything drastic.

The only real weakness i see is the Consistency of the the PP.

I dont agree. Feel he thinks he knows better than everyone else which is why he’s had issues at every level he has played at. Just my opinion of course but it can’t always be everyone else’s fault. World doesn’t work like that.
- Cptmjl

Yeah, but you paint a picture of the kid being an arrogant jerk who thinks he's smarter than everyone else. Niteislander says he's actually met him and that he's a nice kid who takes the time to sign autographs, etc. IMO, he sounds more like a space cadet than an arrogant jerk. A space cadet could also have "issues at every level" by virtue of his tendency to space out during team meetings or on the bench.

I'm curious to know how his teammates view him. Is he a locker room cancer? Or is he another Uncle Leo? I think it's time for some nugz...

I’m sure he’s a nice kid and means well but this crap is literally following him all the way from pee wee to junior now to pro hockey. It can’t be everyone else. He’s been a problem at every level. I guess he just loves the A......cause he’s clearly not learned what it takes to stay in the NHL. It’s his own problem from his own doing. He’s a non entity at this point. I have more interest in Dal colle and his possible upside.

Filppula has been less-than-ideal lately, if I may be critical of someone on the Isles third line for the first time ever

On paper yes, but they’re winning right now.....without any big name 2c. For me, i don’t mess that up.....it ain’t broke..

Fili has not been good. MDC is going to try to sneak Otto up at this point.

They mentioned something last night about Komarov being great with young players and that was his role in Toronto....and that’s why they have him with MDC. 🤷🏻‍♂️

MDC did look good on the forecheck that lead to the goal by Toews. I'm sure he can learn some things from Leo. MDC still needs someone that can get him the puck in good scoring chances.

I think he’s just learning the pro game and the speed of the game. One thing for me that’s noticeably better is his skating. He’s hungry out there.....it shows. Good on him.

Meanwhile Devon Toews’ goal last night wasn’t too pretty but 3 goals in ten games for a dman???? I’ll take it...

His skating is a lot better than expected. I would try to get MDC some PP time. It's doubtful he will get top 6 time at this point.

Toews has been good. I can see him being a 40-50 point dman with more experience. I would not mind seeing what Aho can do.

Hope they're not sleeping on the Blues, they've been playing well lately and probably should have beat the Isles in the first go-around
