From all those times he acted like a baby.
- Cptmjl

Exactly. Ho-Sang has been such a mature professional since being drafted. I don’t know where anyone could come up with a thought that he’s acting immaturely. Ho-Sang has surely earned the benefit of the doubt with the questions about his maturity...

Nah JS, they were the best 4th line in hockey and were a big part of the teams success. Plain and simple, I don’t fall for smoke and mirror BS. This whole board said anyone can be plugged into the 4th line and they won’t miss a beat. The fact is that that was wrong. They totally sucked ass, offensively, defensively and also in theeffectiveness in changing the flow of the game.

They were used at the end of 1 goal games to close them out. Very dependable on both sides of the ice, and very dependable.

All true but they did disappear when needed the most, lets be fair about that. I wouldn't mind if Martin came back you know me I love the old school way regardless if its outdated I also don't know if you can just guarantee that they would do it again 2 years later no questions asked. I actually think it was like catching lightning in a bottle more then something they could do year after year at the pace. Cal is two years older as is Martin and history shows these types of players start decline right around this time. Could it work again? Yes but I think the chances are better it wouldn't at this point IMO

Care to be specific?
- JohnScammo

How about when he “overslept” and got sent home from training camp? Or the crybaby comments to the news outlets last season when he was sent down because he wasn’t playing a lick of defense or well without the puck (not that anyone else was either, but everyone else didn’t have a track record for being immature)?

Hopefully, someone will ask him at his presser after he signs or re-signs what was in the binder about each team he met with.

I have no issue with Ross Johnston on that line. I think the reason the line stunk is because 15 and 53 were just bad all the way around last year and I dont think Martin would have helped them be better

I would rather cizikas and clutterbuck spontaneously combust never to be seen again then find out if they can rekindle some magic with Martin

He overslept. That was once. He did NOT cry to the media when he was sent down. It was only near the end of the season when he expressed his frustration.

Look, we all know that Snow and Weight and Thompson are extraordinary hockey minds, so I'm sure they would never mishandle their personnel.

The bottom line is Ho Sang bit the bait and did exactly what he wasn’t supposed to do. It’s immature of him to go to the media (whilst in the minors no less). That’s immature. Don’t think that doesn’t translate on the ice either.....you gotta have self control in this sport.

Nobody said that Snow, Weight and Thompson were brilliant and I’ve beaten the drum for them to be gone as loudly and often as anyone here. And I want things to work out with Ho-Sang. He’s got an unbelievable level of talent. But the kid was labeled immature by talent evaluators before he was drafted. He has had maturity issues with the isles that other isles prospects have not had under the same regime. If you don’t think Ho-Sang in general has some maturing to do, you will be in the minority with that opinion.

No guarantees, but only one way to find out. That’s why teams make bad FA signing year after year.

Probably won’t happen but now I hope it does

I heard that the reason 95 % of the GMs passed on him, was because when he wasn’t picked for Juniors in Canada he went right for the race card, when that had nothing to do with it. Nobody wants that distraction (except Snow)

Like Nino Niederreiter?
- JohnScammo

It may have worked out for nino to whine like he did when he wasn’t invited to NHL training camp following a season where he was a minus 35 or something like that and racked up about 11 points, but that doesn’t mean it was an act of maturity to whine. If no-sang is taking a play out of the Nino playbook, he may not have the same result (and yes, Snow and Co mishandled Nino, but his response was an immature one)

Why do you need to bring up B when we’re talking about A. Two totally different scenarios. Neither of them as “prospects” should be chirping to the media.

No, I realize he's an odd duck, and needs to adjust to the ways of the NHL. I just have zero confidence that this is not going to turn into Niederreiter 2.0, where the kid gets traded and flourishes somewhere else. He was the only bright spot on the bottom 6 last season, and he got sent down for losing the puck while trying to do too much himself.......partly IMO because he was on a line full of stiffs.
