Best article I’ve read in a while was about him being unprotected in the expansion draft. Brought a tear to my eye.

Kuhnhackl is fine as a fourth liner he really hasn’t been bad just like to see someone with more talent and upside on our third line forget about our second line. He has no business there. With that said not really sure how Ho Sang will do with this call up? Unfortunately I think there’s a better chance of him imploding than impressing Trotz. I just hope they give him a legit chance in the top 6.

I agree on Moose. He is fine as a 4th liner. No way should he been in the top 6. All you can ask as a young player is a real chance. No reason Ho Sang should not be in the top 6 tomorrow.

Top 6 hasn’t exactly been lighting it up lately minus Lee. May as well give him a legit shot up there. He most likely won’t get a shot just from going on what we’ve seen or he may not even play. We shall see..:

This is the thing. Lee is the only player doing anything lately in the top 6. Isles need to show some confidence in a young player. Let them fail or succeed on their own.

I don’t disagree. If they’re going to give him a shot may as well give him the best opportunity to succeed. If he doesn’t then they know what they’ve got...

I think he will be on the third line. I hope he doesn't do anything stupid. He is exciting to watch, plus the Isles need someone else that can move the puck.

Who would you put him with? I don't think he should be playing with Barzal.

This wouldn't be bad at all. Nelson and Ho-Sang put up good numbers together last season.

I think they'll put him with Filppula and Komarov, though, figuring those guys will keep him more honest.

Nelson is the easy answer but who knows maybe Barzal and Ho Sang would work. I know the sensible answer is no because they both pass when they should shoot and hang on to the puck way to long but maybe they find some kind of chemistry and it works.

Have to try to pump some life into our top 6 while giving the kid a shot imo and that’s coming from someone who isn’t exactly a big fan of his. I just don’t see the point of calling these kids up and playing them for five mins a game with the Stephen Gionta’s of the world. I’ll disagree with the whole “the kid has to earn his ice time” crowd to an extent. There’s some truth to that of course but I think we’ve seen the extreme with MDC (not saying the kids a stud before someone has some stereotypical response) and prospects with the last regime.

Give them a legit shot if they flop then you know where you stand and whether they’ll contribute in the future to the team and plan accordingly. I’m not just saying one game either or even two. If you think they’re good enough to call up give them at least a few games to adjust. We need some of these kids to start working out and not become over agers in the AHL. Khunackl, Johnston (even with his four year contract), Gionta, and Sbisa are not this teams future and if they are we have even bigger problems. Seems elementary to me just my opinion.

I think they would just keep passing it to each other until they turned it over. It would be interesting to watch for a game.

Most likely right but you never know. Most sensible thing is to put him on a line with a shooter like Lee or maybe even Beau imo but chemistry is a weird thing. Believe me I’m not sitting here saying let’s throw Barzal and Ho Sang together that wasn’t the gist of my initial post which I thought I made pretty clear. Just saying you never know who is going to have chemistry with who. Sometimes it’s something you never would expect but playing these guys with grinders is pretty much the same extreme thought process. Hasn’t worked for us in the past most likely won’t start working now. With that said maybe he’ll find something with Flipulla on third line who knows?

Yep! Especially when this is not a win now season. Lou had a very strange offseason if he is all in. This is the perfect season to find out about Toews, MDC, and Ho Sang.

Could not agree more Cpt. Good chance MDC is a flop but Lou himself said he earned the call up and then you put him on the 4th line for 5 minutes?

Players like MDC and Ho Sang should get 5 games with other skilled players. If they cannot get it done you gave them a decent look with some talent. You put them on the 4th line or play them very little minutes and you learn nothing.

I agree that he will start with Filppula and Komarov. Both of them aren’t afraid to shoot.

I’m hoping HoSang plays well enough to stick around.

3rd line with Fili is much better than being on the 4th. I still put Ho Sang in the top 6 but 3rd line would be baby steps.

Me too. They can certainly use some more speed and players that can skate with the puck. I have a feeling it will be short lived.
