She needs to loan a little of that meat to Toews.

So, how'd we do tonight fellas? Was probably closer than the 6-2 outcome, I presume?
I personally hope we tear this whole thing down. Save for Barzal and Pulock, possibly Lee (sorry Schwein) and Beau, but I'm for a full rebuild. I think this would be a faster approach to a formidable team than working with Nelson, Bailey, Eberle, Leddy, Boychuck. And I think we could get a decent haul for all of them to a team looking for playoff depth...

Barzal looks lost. He is making all these meaningless moves and not generating anything. I would say call up Ho Sang but this Isles team has no shooters. Bridge seems to have some shooters and Ho Sang is piling up the points. I get it's not the NHL. I'd still rather give Ho Sang a 10 game shots over a lot of these players. I would not mind moving some of the players you mentioned. Boychuk has very little value with that contract.

I agree with you 100% on Barzal The entire top 6 are playmaking forwards, no snipers. We literally have no forwards that can snipe the puck. Lee scores goals, but they're typically garbage area goals, which is a needed position, but he's not the type of player that can turn it up a notch and torch a goal when needed.

This team was built horribly. No shooters, no goalies, lousy D. Lou has got a ton of work to turn this thing around. Hope he can do before he retires.

This is kind of what I was expecting from the goalies. We all knew what Greiss was. He can steal a game and he can give one back. Lenher was more of a wild card, but his play has been more or less what we thought. At the start of the season he was playing better than I expected.

Goalies have been pretty much as expected. Isles need to put a shooter with Barzal quick. Isles need to change the mix at forward and at least replace Pelech with Toews. Isles should not just wait for the trade deadline to change some things up.

I know it’s been said before but I don’t think this team is in buyer mode right now. Who really knows what Lou is going to do but you have to think with the off-season we had the furthest thing from his mind was “win now” and if it was we have bigger things to worry about.

Nobody in their right mind could have expected this team to realistically succeed this year. Yeah teams exceed expectations every year but to bet on that to me with this mess was completely unrealistic. I’m hoping the plan is to at the very least put a competitive team together next off season after “evaluating” whatever it is they need to evaluate now. Imagine if we had a shot at Hughes and think of what this team could look like if that happened. The problem with that scenario to me is tthis team does compete at times and probably will continue to do that sometimes because we have a great coach which won’t give us the best odds but at this point that’s where my hope lies...

By the time I got home and turned the game on it was 4-1 in the second. 30 seconds later it was 5-1 when Sid scored that tap-in. Had to rewind it to find out why he was so wide open and where the other D-man was. Oh, there he is. JB standing someone up at center ice (needlessly) and putting himself out of position. Then there he is hacking away at another player at the top of the circle. He then glides towards the net as the continues leaving Leddy to try to defend.
30 seconds later I was watching reruns of The Office.

I love that they're trying to expand Barzal's game...but at the moment he looks like he's thinking way too much...on the power play, on odd-man rushes, etc. It's been some tough love -- even in the media Trotz has mostly critiqued Barzal about his defense and his shooting. All good things once it all sinks in, but right now he doesn't look as confident as he was last season.

I think the team has shooters...Eberle, Nelson, Lee, and Beau are all players that aren't afraid to get pucks to the net. I don't really like using three of those shooters all on the same line, but I haven't been crazy about Lee-Nelson-Eberle as a line from the beginning. Eberle I think is way more dangerous when he's with Barzal, and Bailey and Nelson looked pretty good together earlier in the season, too.

Without a doubt I think it'd be a good idea to mix a Bport prospect or two in there for a few games. Trotz wants to send messages, but he's about out of options. That Twofrackle-to-the-first-line move last night was so ridiculous it was abandoned after a few shifts. Once Gibson's sent down, they can call someone up...why not make it Ho-Sang instead of Gionta?

Only issue with the bolded is: Is Ho Sang really good enough to replace one of Bailey/Eberle? I know neither are lighting the world on fire, but it's flat-out impossible to stick Ho Sang on a defensively responsible line. He's too much of a wildcard and he's just going to kill the defensive-productivity of the other two guys. He can't play a bottom-six role.

I do think Barry is trying to get Barzal to play a more well rounded game and I get it. It will take time. Still think it would help Barzal to put him with pure shooters.

I still think UIF this team still has too many shooters. The PP does not work because you have players looking to pass instead of shooting. Moose cannot be in the top 6 and you just have to role with Barzal Beau Lee Eberle Nelson and Bailey in the top 6 if trades or callups are not an option.

Barry blew it by not putting MDC in the top with guys that could have set it up. It was a Cappy move putting MDC on the 4th line with no talent. Could have sent a message to the rest of the team.
