I’m guessing your league counts hits, PM’s, attempted murders and other such stats?
- Wildschwein

We actually don't count PIM's for some reason. The guys that run it have some sort of complex because "penalty minutes aren't positive things", so they axed that from the scoring. It's a points league that counts hits as .2 each.

This is the scoring:

Yea, I happen to think it's really, really good. Nothing is disproportionately weighted, everything seems to have been assigned reasonable point values.

Despite outplaying them for most of game, You cant beat the Stanley cup champs going 0-4 on PP. Only guys that have been good on PP are Barzal, Bailey, Nelson and Lee. Everyone else has sucked.

Clutterbuck needs to go. 25 games on PP unit and 1G? not working.

Its odd b/c when i watch isles PP move puck around, im say wow it looks so good. Why cant these guys bury a puck.

It also would help if Pulock can hit the freaking net. I mean its getting annoying watching a 100+mph shot go 3 ft wide or hitting one of his teammates.

Making the MDC comparison to Bailey or Bertuzzi couldnt be more wrong. For starters, Bailey went to NHL as a 18 year old (which he has no business doing). For a 6M a year player is worth every sent and along with Nelson have been two best players in the post JT era. Ill take it one step further and say Bailey might be only guy that looks great on PP this year.
Bertuzzi was 23rd overall pick not a Number 5. He produced he just didnt play with an edge as Islander. i remember the day clearly. Bertuzzi backed down for a fight with Vincent Damphouse from Canadiens (a guy that never fights) and milbury traded bertuzzi the very next day. His quote was "i tried everything except putting splints under his fingernails to get this guy to play hard" Trading bertuzzi was just another feather in Milburys horrible tenure.

I'm sorry, but I cannot participate in a league that does not distinguish primary assists from secondary assists.

I have no idea. My post was a pure (if unfunny) joke. I don't participate in any fantasy leagues in any sport. Years ago I was in a baseball league. Never been in a hockey league.

Really? Did you watch the caps power play? Even if they arent feeding ovie they have a triagle set up from hash marks to goalline to slot that wilson scored on. Fast crisp passing tape to tape the isles are lethargic and need to move the puck much quicker and also their feet a bit as they are stagnent standing around. Maybe this will help you understand better

Yesterday we had all the frustrations of players in the past come back to haunt Isles fans.

Bailey forgot that he had to skate to play hockey. He was caught flat footed a bunch of times, especially on the PP. Instead of moving to create space he was lethargic until it was too late and would give the puck away.

Brock Nelson failed to shoot or pass a few times until it was too late on the PP.

Lee had one of his worse games in years.

Mayfield gave the puck away on his outlet passes. "

Hickey was out of position and took a horrific penalty.

Greiss was subpar at best.

Combine that with playing the defending stanley cup champs... L

I thought Bailey donned his invisibility cloak last night, except that I noticed him on the power play ....... but not for accomplishing anything, just for standing around.

I will say in general this year I have been happy with his play. He was horrific last night. The first PP they were skating and moving the puck around and had a bunch of shots. the next 3 it was like another team...

The fact that they let Wilson get that wide open shot not once but twice had me bat sht angry. Got away with the first one b/c Wilson took a bad shot. Second one just can't happen.

I agree that Bailey on the whole has been pretty good this year. But last night (and often in other games) I just wish he'd start his checks, let alone finish them. He rarely takes the body, even when the situation calls for it. I'm not looking for him to turn into Tom Wilson, but he's a pretty big guy who plays small.

Some terrible give aways by Bailey that we’re all too familiar with. Long stretches where they were hemmed in their own zone but they did push back which was good to see. One thing that to me is an on going issue is Barzal’s still trying to do way to much and getting nothing done in the process. He needs to button up his game quite a bit. Along with that Pulock has to start pushing his offensive game a bit imo not sure if Trotz pulled the reigns back on him a little or it’s his own doing but we need to start pushing the play from the back end. He has been fairly solid defensively I’m assuming that has been Trotz’s focus with him but we need some help from our defense at this point...

“A couple of them, we had trouble getting in the zone,” captain Anders Lee said. “It looks brutal and it’s frustrating to watch but we had some good chances [Monday] for sure.”

Must have been taking a sip of my beer when that happened😂

Well the key to beating an aggressive pk is to move the puck faster however in this case pelech let it happen to him right after a great save from the same spot

Puck was behind Holtby twice. Would love to see Lee or Brock jam a stick in there instead of standing up watching.
