What kills me is he purposely said he didn’t want to be traded so the Leafs didn’t give up assets. Completely planned the guy is scum.
- Cptmjl

The thing I hate is the idea he was this great Islander and really cared. The only thing he complained about was the Barclay's ice. Why did he even care when he cannot even skate?

JT never said anything or did anything about the lousy GM and coaches. JT needs to zip it.

In the end JT ended up helping the Isle's MGMT, because if he had of been traded and then signed a long term deal away then it was b/c they traded him.... He would have stayed if Garth had not moved him...etc.

Instead, it is 100% JT's a dirt bag for doing what he did to the Isles. He keeps opening his mouth about it b/c he Knows he did the wrong thing by the team that drafted him, made him the captain and face of the Franchise. I wish only the worst for him for the rest of his career.

I'm sure he keeps opening his mouth about it because people keep asking him about it. I doubt he just roams around Toronto looking for reporters to grab so he can talk to them unprompted about the Islanders.

Problem is that I think too many of them are still friends with him. I hope there's either someone who hates him or Komarov steps up and makes him his bitch all night long. I'll never say another word about that contract again if Komarov totally wrecks his shit.

No, but he could easily duck the question if he wanted to. I agree with niteislander that guilt is probably motivating him to keep responding in depth.

I think you might be overestimating some of those friendships. I think a lot of those "friends" feel about him like they do about some old girlfriend who dumped them.

Well then he needs to get a clue and just sidestep the question. The more he speaks about the Islanders the more people are going to link him with flat-leaving them and hate his robotic burnt-toast guts.

Or just outright lie like he did from July '17 to July '18.

Meh, a lot of them went to his wedding after he left. I'm talking like boiling animosity. Maybe it'll be whichever anonymous player said that they didn't blame the fans for hating him.

I'm sure they want to beat him and won't take it easy on him, but I'd like to see someone catch him with his head down at full speed coming across the neutral zone and just (frank)ing throttle him.

pretty easy for him to say..."Yeah they are doing well and I am happy for the guys ont he team, but I am here now.. would like to stick to questions about my current team... thanks.

instead He goes into 15 minute diatribes about his time on the Isles. .. eff him. that tool bag.

I'm sure ducking questions in Toronto wouldn't lead to articles speculating about what that really means

It looks to me like he's getting asked about it and he's just saying the same boring, safe, diplomatic crap he says in his answers about everything. Like most players do. Lebrun's same story opens with Pacioretty already being asked about Montreal and getting set to be asked more about it all this week. If he answers all their questions, that means he's obsessing over it somehow?

"When I waa 12 the New York Islanders broke my heart. In 1980, in overtime in the Stanley Cup Final..."

If that opening line doesn't get one of us to start writing Isles blogs for Hbuzz than nothing will at this point.

Not sure I understand your point. Are you comparing Patches to PJB? Seems like apples and oranges. Also, "obsessing" is your word, not mine. I just said I think niteislander is right that guilt seems to be motivating PJB to keep answering questions about the Islanders. Otherwise, why not duck them? It's been over 4 months since he jumped, it's no longer news.

Tucked in Staple's article today:

Neil Sheehy, Leddy’s and Anders Lee’s agent, was on hand Monday in his third trip to the Island/Brooklyn already this season. Leddy of course has three seasons left on his current deal, so it’s unlikely Sheehy and Lou Lamoriello have been discussing him.

Leddy looked tired on Monday, not moving his feet enough to be effective in his own end and rarely getting up the ice to make a difference at the other end. The Islanders need more from him.

Sheehy declined to say why exactly he was in town again, but it’s clear there are ongoing discussions on a Lee extension. Just a hunch that Lee would love an eight-year deal and that Lamoriello would like something a bit shorter, but there’s dialogue.

Interesting. I'm glad they're talking. I'd give Lee an 8-year deal, if it's just for $5 million per season. Problem is I'm sure Lee is looking for $7+.

I'm saying Pacioretty is getting and will get asked endless questions about Montreal just like Tavares is getting asked a lot about the Islanders. And he'll answer them in all likelihood by saying good things about his time in Montreal and talking about the skill and talent there, blah, blah, blah.

Their situations are different, but the point is it's not like it's Pacioretty who keeps bringing up Montreal anymore than Tavares keeps bringing up the Islanders. It's the reporters who keep talking about it, and they're going to have a story no matter what the players say. If they say positive things, that's the story. If they duck the questions, then they're "evasive" or whatever and that's the story.

I think they'll get something reasonable done. It seems like the Isles want him and that Lee wants to stay.

OK, that's reasonable. You could be right. Maybe PJB feels no guilt. Hard to say for sure. He usually was rather inscrutable.
